I wasn't 100% sure if this should go here or the watering hole section, so my appologies if it's in the wrong forum. Anyhoo I'm doing a bit of a shout out to anyone who rides the Broker's trails... basically all I wanna say is that I have it on fairly good authority that it's OK to build trails up there. As far as I have been told, so long as the Bushfire brigade can get their trucks up there, no one really minds what you build.... so basically don't be putting some huge north/not shore stuff in the middle of the fire road!
You also have to remember that the area is shared by walkers and motor bike riders, now while they tend to stick to the main trails, be aware they could discover any new trails and possibly churn them up.
I personally have built one little stretch of single track that starts about half-way up the main rutted track heading up to the lookout. There is a part that flattens out and kinda looks like a t-intersection going off to the right if u are riding up. The start is a bit vague, but marked with some ribbon, and it ends down on the main trail again... in one part it comes out to the main trail but goes off it again... the bottom part is easy to find.
Anyway the long and short of this thread is that I reckon this area has some huge potential for a network of single track stuff ranging from cruisy to super hard depending where you build and what u put in there.
So if anyone is thinking of doing some work, I say go for it, just don't cut down any trees! Also if maybe people wanna get together and do some work some time, that would be cool too.
Cheers folks!
