How would a set of 04 DJ2's go for freeriding. whats the positives and negatives bout them?

Positives: Strong as, will suck up the big hits, fairly cheap
Negatives: The damping isn't too good for general riding, ie no small bump sensitivity.

A '04 DJ2 RRP's at $949, for $799 you can get a Z1 Dropoff2, which isn't as burly, but has better all-round characteristics... or push it up to the Z1 DropOff ETA for $1099 and get the ETA travel adjustment doowahickey that makes climbing alot easier.

You pay for quality... Personally, even though Marz are pricey forks (especially compared to competitors models), they're worth the money.

Thats not a high price rad rob, your getting 6 inches of travel on a dj2, a dj3 with 110 travel is like 750 or somtin.

i pushed on a set of 04 dj 2's with 150mm travel 2 days ago, they felt a lot smoother than the old dj series (i've only riden dj3)

there are 150mm version DJ2's? Are these OEM? Marzocchi.com and my Aus delivered pricelist say they're 110mm, extendable to 130... :?:

With the cr-mo stantions, i heard that they weigh the same as a manitou sherman slider (DC)
But weight isn't that much of an issue with dj, but it might be for freeriding.

im not up on the latest customs charges and etc but im pretty sure that jenson usa use fedex for shipping and they send international orders through customs, so on top of postage u also have customs charges and gst
im not sure if this is spot on, but there is definitely additional cost ontop of the jenson usa price that u will have to cough up to get them sent over

That's incorrect. The DJ2 comes with 110/130 just like all the other DJ forks when you buy it aftermarket. You only get the 150mm/6" when you get it on one of the bikes that come spec'd with it - because the 6 incher is OEM only. So far i've only seen the fork on 2 bikes - 04 BH comp, and 04 Rampage.

i'd trust shermans over those marzocchis.... cuz shermans have had a big build up to there release where as the marzocchis were just like "ok we're releasing a 6'' sc thats oem." kinda sus if u know what i mean.... sus like to men in a bathroom
