View Full Version : New thing from GripSport
Well.... sort of :o
Have you got one of our Quick Grip towbar carriers? One of these?

Have you got another vehicle you'd like to swap the carrier onto quickly and easily?
Well now you can buy the "hitch" (complete with lockable Q/R pin etc) as a separate item, leave it bolted to your second vehicle and swap your carrier around in seconds. Does NOT include padlock. Cost $85. http://www.gripsport.com.au/main.php?part=products&prodID=55

I actually already do this. I leave the toaw ball on and am still able to use most trailers without taking the Gripsport hitch off. So easy.

Yeah ditto that. I ordered a second hitch when I bought my DH bike rack from Gripsort. It's very convenient if you take different cars when you go riding, which I do depending on how many people are going :)
As johnny said, there is no problem with leaving the hitch on there either unless you have a really strange trailer hitch.
I should point out that our hitch setup was never actually designed to allow a trailer to be towed while the hitch is still fitted to a towbar.
While it is possible to tow SOME trailers with the hitch still attached, some trailer couplings (or at least the way they're attached to trailer drawbars) just WONT allow for it.
I strongly advise people to check the clearance, especially turning clearances, before whacking the old 6 x 4 on the back and heading into the sunset.:)

Haha yes, my old man found that out a few days ago... quite angrily too I might add :p

Well, this might just be the answer to my problem of my brother stealing the rack and hitch. If I can pursuade him to at least buy his own hitch setup, thats one less hassle for me putting it back on my car.

I must say I wish I got one of these ages ago, my life before and after the race is so much easier now. I carry 2 x Orange 223's when downhilling and Enduro Specialised when not. I did a package with two oversized crank adapters as I run Saint cranks and I have no isssues. This rack is well worth the money....only problem was I didnt get the "steak knives" with the pack !!
