If no disc brakes fit, why are you trying to put them on? What exactly doesn't fit?

try explaining your situation a bit better, it's hard to read your question let alone come up with an answer

so the actual rotoer doesn't clear the frame? not much you can do about that... if you mean you don't have the right adapter to position the caliper correctly, well you'll have to try and find the right one..

do you really need an 8" on the back? Isn't a 6" hydro enough?

Welding disc mounts onto an aluminium frame is a pretty hairy proposition, you'd want to have a lot of faith in the company doing the work for you.

yeah i dont thinks thats the best idea, unless ur welding it onto steel? i think u might be able to buy some bolt on brake mount thingy.

Yup, those are tabs
Just go and ask your LBS for adapters to fit whichever 8" brake you buy to a '99 Kona stinky.

They look like mounts for a rear mudguard like on the old road bikes and mountain bikes which have the metal coming down connectting into those tabs but im wrong just pointing it out

OK, this thread is way to weird and rambling and misinformed
- Those things oz-freerider has circled in red at the top of this page are your frames disc mounts, if you want to put discs on them, ask at your bike shop for the appropriate adaptor for whatever brand of brakes you choose.

What else can I say but, "Lock it in Eddie"
