stock bmx's are tight as these days so i say just buy one you lke and up-grade parts as you need.

eg. hoffmann rythm pl1 is around what you have and i've got one, their pretty ok:)

i agreee with what others have said...

also if you plan to build with $1200 half your money is gone once you buy a decent frame

you couldn't ride it but it'd be great to look at

year but i dont think i can wait unless u can get it for $1200 then ill buy but what do u think of the fuse 4

bmx
14-09-2006, 09:51 PM
fuse 4, you can get for under $1000 if you shop right. but i love them. if i had a grand, i'd probbaly get one (and swap over my better parts:p )

if you can, import an Integral Bel Air from www.danscomp.com

costs you under a grand, and has primo upgrades all over. best buy, but not avaliable in Australia, but still, they're cheap in america

i still say get a hoffman or a new mirra.co
but what ever you decide on is your decision just that the hoffmsn range is soo sweet and they come in nearly every colour. mmmmmm :)
and the specialized fuse 4 comes with an isis bb, yuk, if you ever need new BMX cranks then what??

and sorry but if you buy the fuse 4 "its a nice bike" but you will cop alot of shit if you ever ride it at a bmx orrientated park as they have the same respect level as a huffy.
THE TRUTH IS NOT ALWAYS GOOD TO HEAR :( ( so sorry if i offended anyone who owns one )

nice but it dosent have front brakes and the back brakes there on the right i like hem on the left

shmeado
15-09-2006, 06:03 PM
most levers would be on the right if u aren't running front, cos most people are right handed.

15-09-2006, 06:22 PM
yer i know i am right handed but im use to left and i just like it like that. ps:nice diamondback.

melbourne rider
15-09-2006, 07:09 PM
i was used to left hand brakes but i took like 5 mins to get used to right hand levers when i bought my new bike.

and you dont realy even need front brakes as it will teach you to lift the back wheel without the assistance of fronts = more style and skill.

um, rumour has it you can change a lever from the right side (yes you heard right), from the right side to the left side:eek:
its amazing what you can do with an allen key these days

i do like the hoffman PL1 series, but i don't really reckon they're worth $1200. good bike, but not $1200 good, well not for me anyways.

like i said before, if you can import an Integral Bel Air from www.danscomp.com then you'll have an already primo upgraded bike. in fact, im going to post up info about it now. the pretty picture should hopefully draw your attentoin to it. about $700 to buy, and $200 to get over here. wow, thats only $900. and what would you have to show for it? the best stock bmx.
justread the spec list, its awesome;

4130 chromoly frame
Integral chromoly fork with 1-pc steerer tube
Integral logo grips
Primo Low Pitch 9-butted 2-pc chromoly bars
Primo Solution 1-1/8" integrated headset
Primo Balance 36H rims with black front and chrome rear
Primo Pro hubswith 11T driver and 14mm axles
Primo Double Down Spanish B/B
Primo Hollowbite 3-pc 175mm aluminum cranks
Primo Balance pedals
Integral 30T chainwheel
Primo E-brake mounted on seatstays
Primo brake lever
Primo Balance seat with 9mm rails
Primo Dirt Monster front tire and Primo V-Monster rear
2 Integral pegs.
20.5" Toptube. (32 lbs)
http://danscomp.com/images/products/101533.gif

its so good even i want one. infact, im going to look into one right now.

and i'm guessing its the S-Works that doesnt have the ISIS BB then. coz i was sure there was one that didn't. and i didnt even know the fuse4 has ISIS. and 'melbourne rider', why is it a huge delema to have a fuse 4 there? there no problem in perth with them.

but anyways kid, get the intergral. thats my 2 cents, so take it

= $1059.62 aus

DONT GET FOOLED BY CURRENCY

i dont like isis on bmx because you are limited on the sorts of cranks you can run on your bike ( that are actually designed for bmx )

id get the bel air such good parts and postage is less my mate worked it out with them over the phone

If you are going to buy a complete bike from danscomp it will cost you quite a lot! postage was $25 for slams bars

bmx
16-09-2006, 12:31 PM
yeah, but you can't get the bel air from anywhere else, well that i've seen. and dans comp is the easiest place to get it from, unless you can find one on ebay's shop "streetmafiabmx".

melbourne rider - yeah ok, its $1050, but still its cheaper than $1200

Hey, I reckon you shouldn't get a complete custom build, as most people have said. Get a:

2. Wethepeople 4seasons $1250 .Change the brake eventually though. http://wethepeople.de/V3/product/202

or...
1. Fit Flow: great value for money, strong, change the brake and maybe the bars (but not the brake lever.) www.fitbikeco.com oh, and also get the flow, not the flow street

Buy at www.strictlybmx.com

Hope thats helps josh
