Hey I know the feeling. Just finished a full run of the MTNX course at Whistler and no-one got a shot of it. When I finished it was an almost orgasmic experience. God, those verticals on the step ups etc are enormous but I did it and made it better than some of the guys I followed and not as good as others. Anyway I felt so good about doing it!! Even if someone did get photos I don't know if I would post them. Any other shots are just awful.

Jo doesn't have access to a computer at present but soon will. So we wait with baited breath for another top woman racer/rider to encourage us girls.

Pink is good but black is great as it doesn't show any lumps and bumps. I wear black and light grey. I wore my lovely Oroton black lace panties to a race, well under my gear, fell twice and they were filled with bark, dirt and other undesireables!!! The joys of dh. :) Still feel good when I've finished and done well, well for me anyway.:D

10-10-2006, 04:51 PM
what you see there is what I race in, I hav e a 661 pro pressure suit but it very very very rarely gets warn.
confident-only to an extent. ive only been rideing approx 8-9 months from november last year with a 4 month gap from when i toltally ruined my hand (started rideing again in april) ha thats actualy 5 months there ya go!.
I definatly have some confidence but im still improving on that everytime i try a new track or a new stunt.
takes time unfortunatly, this brain makes me think twice about stuff.:(
im doing pretty wel for how long ive been rideing im told. but ive alays done tom boy stuff so yeh.........

roxy12
11-10-2006, 07:22 PM
haha youve got me there.
ive broken quite a few bones on the bike but they were on road so it dosnt count realy (arm, right hand, pelvis, shoulder, knee cap it goes on........)
actualy racing and dh rideing ive only done the shattered right thumb n broken forefinger, the snapped ligament and tendon, and the cracked knee cap, but that was just one stack:p
injuries suck.........
TerraNik
12-10-2006, 06:29 AM
They sure do. My major stacks tend to come in line with when I buy a new bike. Maybe I'm being punished for spending my money!! haha... now I have a beautiful new (expensive) bike sitting in the lounge room that I can't do anything with for another 5 weeks. *hmph* THAT is punishment!!

Hey Rob, where in Whistler is a River Runs Through It. Looks great but scary. I hate North Shore stuff, prefer jumps and drops. Penny looks really comfortable on it though. Great shots. I think the actual social aspect of riding is one of the best parts of it. But I find talking about it brings you together. Thanks for great pics and story. :D

A River Runs Through It is right inside the municipality of Whistler, in the Whistler Valley. It's on the other side of the valley to Whistler and Blackcomb mountains, but is almost right on the valley floor. VERY easy to get to from the village. Very accesible. If you live in Whistler Quay (a Whistler suburb right next to the village), you can walk a short distance to the entrance of the trail.
A River Runs Through It is a classic Whistler MTB trail that has been there since the 80's. The addition of the stunts and Shore features though is a somewhat recent addition. However, if you were ever going to give that sort of riding a try, it would be the perfect trail to be introduced to it. Everything from super easy, to a bit scary. And imagine a trail with Shore/stunts, that's funded by a very rich municipality, and put together by the best trail builders who have access to funds, materials, and any resources needed to make a trail like this. It's the absolute best quality Shore/stunts I've ever ridden!
Penny got her skills on North Shore stuff there. And she loves it now! (as long as it's not too hard and not too risky).
I guess I do enough talking, reading, etc about MTB... for both Penny and I, so I pick up her slack! ;)

Definitely a great place to get into it! Oh, I should mention, that it is a FREE trail (considering that a lot of people may think the only mountain biking in Whistler needs lift-tickets...:)
Good luck to you and Penny and don't worry about the chat. One of you has to do it. :D

*drum roll*.... Mah sexy 'modified' Enduro (stickers are mods right? *joke*) :D
The pink is much 'pinker' IRL than in the photos, but you get the idea. What ya'll think?!

its not technically a drop foxy was going off in those pics.... u fly down this firetrail at pylet precinct... then u hit a massive kicker... land on a tabletop like 9foot off the ground... then its around a 13foot gap off the end kicker to the lander... thats right not just a flat off the end but a kicker!

Very loverly bike you got there TerraNik!
Can I ask where/how you got your stickers made? I had to get some stuff for work done at Snap printing today and I asked if they do stickers, and they weren't really sure... I need some stickers to go over 'test bike' on my rig. Haven't really looked into it too much but yours look cool.

Sweet ride TerraNik!
Dilemma, you're in Adelaide right? Go visit Andrew at Signs By Knight - Unit1/2 Southern Ave, St Marys. He does all sorts of vinyl cut stickers (used to do my sandboard decals but i switched to a local business who do printed vinyl)
If you have a design for your bike sticker then any sign writer can do it really... but give those guys a go, they're great!

I got sick of looking around to find a place that would make them - I just didn't really have time to care about price n stuff. I was put onto this US site called BikeNames.com - it's so easy! You just select your colour, select the font, select the size and then tell them what you want it to say and voila! It was here a week later!!!!!! SOOOO much easier than going to a shop!

sorry for busting in here ....>> Roxy watch my back!!! :D <<
If you want vinyl stickers made up and as long as you got a computer, just look in your yellow pages under signwriters and most of them have vinyl cutters/machines. Send off your logos and what ever else and they should be able to help. The more you get done the cheaper it is.
Zap...........;)
yehr il let you slide this time a-liner;)

Cool, thanks for the heads-up mate. I've got graphics ready to go, so I'll give them a buzz next week! Will post pics when they're done too.
At the moment I've just got one sticker on my top tube - it's a sunseal mandala sticker of Ganesha (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ganesha), remover of obstacles  Let's see how he goes, ey?

Yep!! Only took 10 months to be 99% healed.... It's all good now though and I haven't had a major 'offs' since then :) Just in time for the next race at the Bluff!! (and this time I won't be practicing any road gaps!!)
Are you guys going to stay until Monday this time?? You HAVE to come for a ride at Marist Park :)

Yeah! Actually I've just posted in that thread. 'schneller' has taken some good shots... I like the rock photo with your helmet reflection - very cool. Get the boys to pitch in $10 & get the 12mb copy of it!!!
And nah, I haven't quit jumping completely. Only at the Bluff... well, parts of the Bluff (the dangerous bits) Marist Park is so much smoother and predictable (and only a short ride from my house, in Mt Gambier) When you're all better you have to come for a ride around the lakes one day & hit up Marist for a few runs :)

I would definitely recommend it. We are making it an annual trip now, 2 weeks was plenty of time. Of course I would like to have stayed there for the rest of my life.. but 2 weeks was nice. We did 5 days in 2007, which is when i decided I actually liked riding.
