i have noticed that a lot of the trials riders/people posting in this forum are dhers......i think this is strange because im surprised they would do something so different to dh
i would have thought that a lot of the trials riders would be trials and street oriented, and the dhers would be more into the DJs

what do u guys think??
also what else do you ride??

I'm a freerider (DHer really but I don't race - I do ride the occasional trail though). I'm just getting into trials as I find it fun primarily because it's so different to DH. Furthermore I think it's the most technical form of mtb'ing and therefore I can learn a lot from it even if it is not directly transferable to DH/FR, it can only help.

That said though I like all forms of riding, I'm starting to get into street and DJ a little more too, however FR and then trials riding top the list. This will end up making me into a jack of all trades and master of none since i don't have the time to dedicate to learning any style properly, but it keeps me entertained :)

Serious Trials riders are just like any other serious sportsperson. Their MAIN passtime is trials, but they may also compete/ride other diciplines too. These pics are all of the same rider doing trials, 4X, jumping, street and tree riding! It's all good... don't try and pidgeon-hole people... they're just "riders" :)

Apart from my work bike when I was a courier, the only bike I have had for the last six years has been my trials bike. I haven't really wanted to ride other kinds of bikes.

Since I've been working at City Bike Depot though i have been wanting to get a trail bike going, and last week I bought a Cannondale Prophet for myself and a Kona Kula for my girlfriend..... Looking forward to doing a bit of XC riding..... Trials is still where it's at for me though.....

i went for my 1st trials ride yesterday with a guy from work,, his names Jack Mullaly. hes a damn good rider in my opinion..

im going for a ride today again with him & some fellas,, im using his old Koxx..

im a BMX racer at heart.. but i also do dirt & street,, with a bit of XC,track,road..

i reckon that BMX skills can come in handy for trials.. im far far from good at trials, hopeflully i will get better as i ride more.. i

I've always liked doing both, DH & trials that is.

I like the tech of trials, being able to ride over almost anything but I also love going fast and drifting corners, you can't beat the feeling of going flat out on fast flowing singletrack :D

Why the suit. Trials, not time trials!

Hey Adam, I was over there with a few friends on saturday, didn't see ya! One of them brought a Cannondale Prophet too I think. Cool looker.

I got the DMR side kick, which really is a DJ bike, but it does trials fine. But I've moved away from trials now... because I can't afford a proper trials frame, and the regular component breakage that comes with it :P (I'm just crap though, Adam can tell you that hehehe)
