Well kids, you didn't ask for it so now here it is. Meet the Farkers is a popular side to the site, so why not Meet the Fairies? I mean after all if there were no trail fairies magically building you trails, you wouldn't have anywhere to ride. There is already a couple of trail builders line up, but if you know someone who is a big time fairy, PM me.

Sounds like a good idea.
Make sure you post up some picture of their trails when they are featured too.

Yeah, I'm limited to the size of the hill I can work on. I've picked the biggest in the area!;)
Everyone was knackered after a flat out 4 minute run here so I can't wait to see the knacker factor by the end of six or seven minutes........

Why the hell have you got to build north shore in Australia hell where in the middle of a drought. Was not North shore started in Nth Vancouver to get them over the bogs.If you can not ride the natural terrain why are you there in the first place.

there is no problem with northshore in australia
its just most northshore is built illagaly, destroyin plants and vegatation, and is in a forest where riding is illigal,
if people built northshore properly and legally we would never hear about rangers, councill gettin up mtbers about the wooden structures,
oh well my 2c feel free to correct me if i am wrong

the northshore pictured isnt covering natural terrain mate, its just a great addition to the track, theres plenty of natural corners but this berm is the most fun part of the track.
if you hate northshore so much get of your arse and go build some totally natural sweet tracks, and if you come across northshore get off your bike and walk around it if its that terrible. instead of bitching get building :)

Show's how much you know.
In drought, you get this thing called dust - it's basically really dry dirt - just in case you're unaware.
Riding over dust continually causes this other thing called ruts - kind of like that big gouge between your butt cheeks - wooden berms & bridges over dusty areas save the trail from getting rutted.
Would you want the trails looking like your backside - I think not!
Awesome work at the You-yangs Travis...

Well northshore can also be used as a substitute for real terrain couldn't it?? what if you didn't have a natural drop in a certain section of your track but wanted to put one in to improve your track . that can be another use of northshore. not just to help get over unrideable terrain. plus its really fun to ride too:D

You may like dirt but this isn't the spot to debate it. The bottom line is while you want to sex up a trail by putting a jump in when it's boring, the number one thing that gets trails closed is fear of litigation (of being sued). Putting NS in often hastens a trail getting shut down (ie. it's man made, so we can sue a man), which is why some posters come of anti-NS.
But if you want to debate the topic more, start a thread.

I see your point on the litigation and that seems like a pretty good reason to not put the NS and keeping trails longer is better than just putting a jump in for a month then losing the whole track. And I'll leave it at that because I'm not too keen on starting a major debate.
