Brissy urban night ride Wed 17th

There will be an end of year urban assult ride leaving King George Square 6.45pm it will be a good chance for all riders and clubs to catch up and spin some crap about how good the next year is gonna be and maybe spin some yarns at the backpackers afterwards( we sit on the street so anyone can come.) Riding open to all levels if ya don't wanna hit the big gaps ya don't have to but at least come and check it out and put some names to faces for the new year. cheers: :jumpie: cheers

For any southsiders, I'm catching the train back to Altandi station afterwards and riding to Parkinson. (cos I ride to work in the Valley on wednesdays anyway)

Maybe we will remember easier if associating nicknames with bikes, having never seen the person before...

Thanks to all for a great ride - im not really the "urban" rder (o.k - I totally suck at it!) but my girlfriend and I were really amazed to see the amount of riders who showed (60ish?) and the talent that flowed. That QR stair gap was so incredibly smooth and for anyone who didnt see Ben Ryans HUGE traffic-stopping manual down Edward St. it was awesome, well done.

My poor little missus Sam had a few minutes of panic as she was swept along in a sea of man and machinery down turbot st. without me, she does pretty well on her little full rigid Mongoose, by the end of the night (we piked early for fish and chips at Southbank!) I even got her to ride down a set of stairs!

Once again a big cheers to Roadie Rob and everyone who came out, it was great to see so many riders breaking the stereotype of being a nuisance and having a great time whilst still keeping the masses happy.

Maybe if there is going to be such a huge turnout next time, there needs to be something like a list of spots in order. So stragglers, lost-souls and late-cumers can find everyone. We moved around the city pretty quick.

50plus riders thats off it's head sorry to those that got seperated but that was a bit of a strategic nightmare but a good show of mtb strength heaps of people I know didn't make it and it was still huge we will have to do a pole of favorite urban sites then make a an itinary of locations and times to hand out at the start of the next one see you all Lobb st 4x on the 28th of Dec

& yeah yeah wow the fark wow to the guy wheely-ing all the way down from the stair case to near the botanic gardens,,,the Jacobs ladder,,,the gap stairs in that court yard,,,the hell vert ride (whoever the 2 dudes were) at the roma st parklands & & & & &

some good footage was had but lighting was a problem later on...but i have it sussed for next time tho... easy-peasy & full on , trust me when i say that next time , lighting wll be no-problemo...bring your video cams for the next one.

I had a great time (as did my buddy Brooke). Although i was too scared to hit something up, for fear of hurting my arm, there was some real skill out there last night. Thanks for all being so nice too, I normally suffer the whole "crap its a girl" thing, but you guys were great! Thanks Roadie Rob, i had fun! :D

Was anyone there at the Roma Street Amphitheatre when Dom, young Ben and myself were gapping it? And when someone decided to walk their bike back UP the MIDDLE of the stair gap right as Dom launched it? That was without a doubt one of the scariest near misses I've ever seen in my life, if those two had hit it would have been ambulance time for sure.

I cannot fathom what goes on in peoples heads some times but walking back up a stair gap that you know people are hittting has to rate as one of the most out and out brain explosions I've ever witnessed. I'm just glad no-one was hurt or I'd actually be angry about it, as it is I ruined a perfectly good pair of jocks and that's annoying enough ;)

Props to you for taking on organising a group that big, when it probably wasn't expected.
Turning up I thought maybe a group that size would be unmanageable and we'd have to split up or something, but you guys just led from the front and everyone followed.

All good fun, done in good spirit, and without extreme danger to pedestrians (mostly). Thanks to all who attended for making it a great night.

my parents wouldnt let me come coz theyre crazy and dont let me do anythin :cry: but its not too bad coz i sweet talked my mum and i think i could probably go on the next one :) anyways it sounded awesome...real awesome. there is no way im missin out on the next one even if i have to run away from home :twisted: but yea im up for the monthly rides that would be madcore to the maximus
