Lately there have been members of a gang walking round and asking people for their bikes, at various locations. We were at cambwell skatepark and one of the guys started following a guy on a norco ryde. The guy on the ryde is just like "Hey man, fuck off im just riding here" and then the other guy said "Just gimme your bike you little ****"
As soon as me and a mate saw these guy we rode for our life and so did alot of other guys at the park.

Apparantly there are about 10 members in this gang and they make stealing peoples bikes a hobby. I think they are only after mtb's because they were only following the guys on mtbs not bmx's.
So if you see them it'd be wise not to notice them and ride of like the wind.

Geez, it's people like these fucked up crazy mofos that wreck the sport.

watched the news lately? shoot ups and crap goin on everywhere in australia (mostly sydney mind you) and if you go wrong by one of the beggars he'll get all his cousins and second cousins and shit to kill you!
the best option is to run really fast, too bad the cops arent able to do too much

all you locals should get a huge group of farkiners to go down to them and outnumber them and fuck them up! Theyres no place in society for lil shits like that who make life a misery for others just to have fun. Theyve gota be sorted out no matter what the cost is. Get the cops down there and organise them to watch one of them to steal a bike from someone ie. let the cops watch from a distance what happens when they approach you.

just videotape the little mofos rolling someone or something and then beat the shit out of them, im sure it wouldnt be hard to get together shitloads of people who would like to see them gone, once the cops break it up (if) and start asking questions just show em the tape and your off the hook :wink:

sutek...in wollongong there are a few guys like em aswell...they followed us from the train station,through crown central then down to the youth centre....lucky for me i can sprint off but they went for the guy riding a dh bike !...they threatened him with there bodgy razor scooters ! then the other guy got the same mates p3 which another friend of mine was riding ! we got the dh bike back with some brutality using the bullbar of a mates mums car. so be on the look out for a fat short islander fella called junior :!: :!: next time i see him im gunna ring up some of the boys from coniston that i know to come down and teach him a lesson

Yeah I live in the camberwell area, if u are at the skate park the reason they wont go any where near the BMX's is because most likly they would get the shit kicked out of them. Anyway if ur at the skate park and one of these "HARDCORES" tries take ur bike just get the BMX's they are always up for a fight. Just look for a guy called Gully, he rides a macneil and he is a fukin nut and always up for a fight. Anyway most of those guys are just fuks with nothing better to do.

I didn't know there was such a gang problem down under. Here in the States this kind of crap happens all the time. This is certainly a problem, and there really is no easy way to fix it. I would say, you need to stick together, and ride in big groups. I wouldn't want to let a bunch of losers take away my good time.

Maybe get some pepper spray to protect yourself, if someone walks up to you, just spray them and pedal like you're on a world cup 4x track. What about the cops, could they be of any help?

Also, I'm just wondering, what do "gangsters" look like down under? Are they really that tough? Do they pack guns? Or are they just some dumb punks trying to act badass? I would bet that if all of the bikers and skaters got together, you could take 'em.

Needless to say, this kind of BS really pisses me off...

They're not true gang-bangers, more like a hilarious facsimile of what middle-class 15 year-old Australian's THINK real gangs are supposed to be like.

Gun control here in Australia is much, much stricter than what you have in America, our incidence of gun related crime is much lower (both in real terms and per-capita) and realistically, you'd have to be a proper criminal with connections to get your hands on a handgun. Hence, no, these clowns don't carry guns, at least in my experience.

if the skatepark up there is good fun, i could get some crew together to come up for a ride and bring some trolly-poles just in case we see some fully-sick gang-banger mofo's that need a lesson taught to them..

the key would be to totally ignore them and keep riding the park untill they actually come up and confront you, then WHAM!! trolly pole to the nose.. they'd think twice before having a go at MTBers again after that...

unless, there are tons of these guys.. then we will need even more MTBers and thus, start a war!!

im not in any gang , dont even pick fights at skool.....but there sure are some crazy mother******* around and i dont want to loose my bike and half my face to a drop out stoner.

just ride carefully and keep ur distance from these gangsters as much as u can.

Edit: talking about trolly-poles......my mate was walking down the street one day....group of dudes chillin on the footpath, he says hi n stuff....next second some drunk asshole outta nowhere is taking a swing at him with a trolly pole......thankfully my mate gave him a high-velocity glass impact to his head and knocked him out.

I have experienced somthing simular!!

i was riding with a mate at a jump spot in Geelong and i had a $300 2 month old camel bak with me and in it was: a week old phone $1400, a mates Phone $1300, my dads old wallet $850-, My house keys $?, and $50 cash!!!, ohhh and my shinnies!

so i put the bag down about 2 meters away from me and as my mate was riding the jump a pannel van pulled up in front of the bag and disguised the bag so we couldnt see it and they got back into the car, and as they where doing so one of them said " THIS SHOULDNT BE A PROBLEM BOYS....." and then they drove off into a no through road in a unregistered car!!!

so in order to call the police we had to ride to a shop to call them, when they came we went looking for the 3 mother fuckers!!!!, it was such a blue heelers event, we opened every garage looking for the pannel van!

we dident find it, the only thing i can suggest is............

you take a 4.5" knife and a 2 by 4 plank of wood and when they aproch you....i think you can figure what happens next!

but the only positive thing about this is you can pull insurence scams!!

they asked me how much every thing in the bag was and i doubled the price and got free gift vouchers!!!!!, this can only happen in specfic situations

yeah coz the insurence company asked me how much they where and for a photo and where you bought them from!

example, my shinies where black and where about $40, i showed them a photo and i told them where i bought them and they matched the description of fox 911, so i was given a check for $140!

Dunno, maybe now that I've topped 30 I've gone soft but I'd say this:

NEVER EVER EVER (get that, like "ever") pull a knife on someone unless you:
-know how to use it
-intend to use it

More than a few folks I know have had knives removed from them by the person they were facing up to and have then been schooled in how to use a knife by the new possesor of the weapon, the reuslt being stitches numbering in the hundreds and a close brush with death.

Don't fuck with this shit folks, as soon as you pull a weapon you seriously up the ante to a new level. (do I sound like your parents yet?)

Losing a bike that you care about but (should be) insured is one thing. Losing your life, your sight, your dashing good looks, your ability to ride, your future livelihood etc is way worse.

I repeat

DO NOT PULL A KNIFE UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING.

Even then, you're breaking the law and seriously setting youself up for jail time, even for self defense.

If you're not capable of taking someone out fists and kicks then there's a fair bet that your nopt capable of taking them out with a blade so don't take it to the next level, it's just going to get nasty.

Guys seriously If you feel insecure enough that you feel you need a knife, I suggest taking up Boxing or a martial art. I mean like Drew said if you pull an edged wepon or any wepon for that matter you actually havea higher chance of it being taken from you and used AGAINST you than you do of "capping some bitches".
Its all about confidence, the guys that hang in their tough "possies" are only confident when they are in gangs, if they are by themsleves of just a few of them I highly doubt they will start any shit. Unless they are infact really dumb or drunk.
And the less reasons you give them to start crap then the less chance there is to get beaten up or have to come to blows.
I'm not old only 19 and haven't had as much life expeirince as say Johnny (used to be a bouncer I believe and would have delt with punks like this) but I'm confident that he'd back me up in the fact that if your confident your less of a target rather than if your "packing" a blade, like before I started martial arts, I used to get into lots of fights because I couldn't control myself or I didn't seem self assured so people would see me as a target to pick on, but after training hard and learning, I don't fight anymore as I realise there is no need and you can do better things to solves situations with out using force. And punks stop and rethink what they are about to get into because I carry myself so surely.

Exactly. The number of hardcores I've talked to who have pulled out a knife to show you so you think they're hardcore is ridiculous. I always ask them how you hold the knife and they hold it out the bottom of their hand. If you wanna cut your arm off or get nailed, do this! It's ridiculous...you have more of a chance of injuring yourself even when you've still got the knife than of injuring someone bigger and stronger than you! If you're really keen on it, first learn how to use the bloody thing and hold it pointing towards your opponent! Common sense, you get more striking distance and they can't come near you.

But like it's been said...don't carry a knife! Kick for the knees and punch for the throat, it's way more effective and your chances of killing them are better that way than with a knife.

I know Superman, I just meant if you're so hell bent on killing them...best do it right, and in a manner that can be classed as self defense.
When in a fight myself, as a little guy, I can't just use brute force because I'm simply not strong enough. But if I hit someone in the throat, be it hard or not, their hands will go to their throat and I'll have a chance to get lost. Same deal with the knees, they'll fall over and you can scram.

I reckon us MTB'ers should stick together, if you see somone being bothered bout their bike go up to them n back em up, gangs arent gonna stop it unless we do somfin bout it. I go to a local bmx track with my downhiller and theres usually the same gang that always try to stir me up bout my bike, first time i was caught alone but got away, now i never go by myself because no one stuck up for me, i was alone everyone watched from a distance. I say if you see somone being bother go back em up, one person may be the difference you need from gettin your ride stolen!!!!

OK, like a few months ago now probably in Toowoomba at the chalk drive skate park me and three mates(i think) were approached by these two really small skaters and they asked to have a go of our bikes. When we said no we got a response of "FIGHT ME". These two people did not do this until their three older friends who were like 18 or so turned up. Me and all of my mates were around the 15 year old mark.

The two little guys that approached us we all know quiet well now as they are always stiring up shit. I even go to school with one of them.

I think that it is rediculos how over something so small like not being given the permission to ride someones pride and joy, and then strait away responding with "FIGHT ME"... if only they still had a brain.

Some one would think that they steel things from people because they dont deserve it and the steeler does. But really they should realise that most people work for what they have so what could make them think that they deserve it more then them
