Just wanting to get a lady's perspective. My girlfriend wants to get a bike but has not been on one in years so she would be happy with a huffy. But being a gear junkie I am thinking of doing up a small DJ for her so if she does not really enjoy it I can just use it for cruising around town.
The question is do you think a DJ would be too heavy for her as she is quite small and I don't want to risk damaging her confidence as I would love for her to be able to start joining me on some single track adventures. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mate ..

Foxy here .

I ride an 06 Kona Stuff for DJ and Trail and it's perfect ..
not a specific DJ model but a good enough H/A to
handel the doubles and the drops , but is also a good
all day trail bike and good in the city for the urban jazz ..

probably any more agressive trail bike would siute - i like
Kona because they make the Extra Small in all models for the
verticaly challenged like me at 5ft nofin  .

hope that helps buddy ..

Get her on that bike soon ;) ..

Thanks Foxy,
Appreciate your input, I am heading out shopping today. Have already purchased my girls christmas present so it looks like I will be doubling up this year as a new bike for christmas should give me a ton of brownie points :)

if i was to buy a stock dj bike itd be one of those!:D

however i ride a custom dobermann pinscher, so that dosnt help much!:p

Ive got a Norco one2five and it is fairly heavy.

If I were to get a new one, I would check out the STP series, fairly cheap but got good bits and they are light. :)

Dont go for something that is bright green (thinking the Scott voltage.......) because she wont ride it if she doesnt like the look of it!
