Guys, good idea with the new section for race snaps, but where is WA? Surely we deserve our own section aswell, even though we may not have as many races?

^^^^^^^^^ Thats classic, maybe an 'inhabital wasteland' section would be more appropriate anyway.

Were not important enough, all the jobs, all the minerals, all the money, all the economic power, all the expensive houses, all the best weather, all the world champion downhillers (even the french chick ;)).

Pretty obvious why they dont want us to have our own forum.... Jealousy ;)

I agree that WA doesn't have mountains, but it does have some great riding spots, trails, track, and dirt jumps.

Just wanted to mention a few facts about WA

1) Last years National DH round in WA was voted by the riders to be one of the best tracks of the series.

2) WA has bred some of the best riders Australia has ever seen across all cycling disciplines:

Track Cycling: Ryan Bayley - 2 time Olympic Champ
Mountain Biking: Sam Hill 3 time World Champ, Scott Sharples - Australian DH legend & National Coach, Ben Bell - 2006 Jnr. National Champ
BMX: World Champs, Darryn Hill, Daniel Sprague, Andrew Figliomeni, Nicole Collisto

3) There has been numerous approaches by WA riders to provide article & picture content for the news forum, but the administrators of this site have not corresponded back to establish some official event news. So most of the coverage is done in the dh forums etc.

It's a shame there is not more coverage of WA riders.... maybe riders from other states will learn a thing or two???? :D

People from WA are reserved to the fact that WA stands for "Wait Awhile". We may get left out of forums, or maps and even have to wait way too long for parcels by courier etc.... but we have some thing the other states don't.....

A continuing tradition of awesomely talented riders who only care about riding and not seeing their pretty faces in pictures.

WA Riders....YYeeeeooooooooohhhhhhhh !:p

Yeah the fools that know nothing about WA should keep thinking that its rubbish there - ya don't want those wannabe, sit in front of the computer and never ride geeks over there. After 12 years of living in West Aus, l miss the place alot, Chittering, Three Chillies, if anyone has met Paul Neve they will now what a dedicated, passionate, MTB freak he is and how much he puts into the sport over there and for one reason only - he bloody loves it.

Munda Biddi trail - while eastern states authorities bitch and moan about how to deal with mountain bikers, what do they do in WA? Build the longest MTB trail in Australia with the ultimate facilities.

So before you mardi gras loving wannabes judge Western Australia, try and engage your brain first.

easy boys. I don't think anyone was actually having a genuine dig at WA here so there's no need to bite too hard.

living in Sydney I'm well aware that there is a lot better riding in other parts of the country, WA included.

i reckon the place that symbolizes our riding in w.a. the best is either baden powell reserve in dwelli (the camp area by the river) or welli mills.
me having never been out of w.a. im my memory am unsure as to how the eastern states really think about us, its weird... do we not have enough articles in mags or something?

Yes they are!

WA sucks bigtime, so does Queensland. Full of inbred hippies, junkies and obese women. I hear they're still used as penal colonies for the British. Isn't that where AIDs started? bin Laden is hiding out in Albany. Joh Bjelke Perteson was a raging queen who wore silk stockings. The WA Premier had to resign he was so depressed about having to run such a large sheltered workshop. WA has such a slow witted population, they have to run 4 hours behind the rest of the country just to understand what the hell is going on in NSW! The best thing about WA is getting out of it!

WA = Wasted Area!

Sam's favourite track is Nannup (the new one he helped develop)... could that be why he's moving down that way from Parkerville?
