That's metal off ridemonkey in the vid, he's doing it on a HT which makes it super hardcore. That's John Kirkaldie trying the same line and end of the vid and ending up in the trees.

...yeah apparently there was some time incentive for doing stunts on the course, eg. nose bonking a rock on a stupid crazy rock jump...

the dude is Sanjay, he won expert @ big bear on a nicola(sp?) hardtail, and the "jibbing" for time bonus was a joke.
John Kirkaldie hits the rock on the other side too, not the same rock.

haha sweet .. ive done nose wheelies like that on the state track at Ipswich .. scary sheet.. always seem to mess those jumps on trying to slow myself down.

Yer, I actually think that having small time bonus for tricks on jumps might be the way of the future of dh. If we want to get more media coverage, the audience would much prefer someone doing a nose bonk than just speed jumping the track. Problem that I can see with it is the fastest person down wont' nessicarily be the winner which sux a bit. Don't know, I love riding and love going fast so I won't be intentionally nose bonking anything soon.... specially the step up at the 4x track like i did yesterday..litle bit scary.
