Hi ladies,
I live in Sydney on the Northern Beaches. I have been riding for about a year but not really dedicated to it. I have a Kona king kikapu which I love. I've been to Ourimbah a few times, Majura (Canberra), one trip to Manly dam and one to the Oaks. I really had no bike skills when I started because I hadn't ridden since I was a teenager (in my 30s now!), so the first year was really about not falling off, which I did frequently.

I'd really like to get in touch with some others who are riding at a similar level: cross country, and still getting the hang of it. Or if you have some experience and like to get out and help others gain some skills then it would be great to hear from you.

Any advice about building skills or places to ride would be appreciated also.
Tanya

Hi Tanya,

If you can make it down to Canberra (I see you've already been to Majura) then CORC run social rides for women about once a month: http://www.corc.asn.au/women/events.asp

They also run mixed social rides: http://www.corc.asn.au/events/social.asp

If you want to improve your skills, CORC run a women's skills camp once or twice a year as well.

Hi Girls

I know I'm not really meant to post here but I thought I might be able to lend Tanya a hand.

Manly Warringah MTB club often do social rides around the Northern Beaches. Check out their website http://www.mwmtb.com/ or their section of the forum.

Another good site to check out for rides around the northern beaches is http://nobmob.com/ these guys aren't really a club as such but more just a group of riders who do a lot of social rides.

You could also post a up a thread in the watering hole section asking people to take you along for a ride.

Finally I'm always doing laps of Manly Dam and your welcome to come and join me just send me a private message.

If you would like to improve your skills really quickly, consider doing a skills clinic. The boys and girls at http://www.cyclinic.com.au/products/cyclinic/ really helped me with my riding.

I'm always up for rides (as long as there aren't too many hills hahah!) I live near Olympic Park so I'm right in the middle between the Mtns and Northern Beaches!

I'm terribly unfit, but I'm getting better with that (just had about 6 months off from 2 consecutive broken arms!!).

PM me if you're interested and I'll let you know when our next ride is! I've never been to Manly Dam, so maybe you could show me around!

Hey Tanya,

I'm a newbie too ...looking for someone to hit the trails with.

I live on the north shore and it seems I am more keen to go mtbing than my boyfriend who originally got me interested.

I have done a few AROC's and the odd Mont.. but am really keen to find some people to ride with. I have a kona blast and ride Manly Dam (walk a few rocky bits..) and around some bush areas in Epping...........

Hi Tanya,

I'm another newbie in my 30's and would like to find people to ride with. I live in the city but have transport and willing to travel for a good ride. Manly dam is closest to me but I have been known to treck elsewhere at ungodly times in the morning to enjoy a morning ride. Really looking to get out there and give it a bit more. Feel free to PM me if you'd be interested.

Hey,

Im riding this weekend - gonna do the Oaks (again) on friday - maybe even start early and do two laps of it, then probably ride around Loftus in the RNP on Saturday.

Anyone keen?

send me a PM if you wanna meet up.
