i have the tld xc gloves (03 model) and they are brilliant. Best pair of gloves i've owned. I'm going to be placing an order for the new ones so i can sell them to all my friends. Plus they have a camo model this year! The TLD gloves are pimp gloves for players who are in the know!

Maybe there is some trick for longer lasting gloves that I don't know about.

i went through 2 pairs of TLD gloves, the more expensive ones. In about 2 months. Though i do know other people who have had TLD gloves last years, I will probably try the new oakley ones next, or maybe try the XC's i dunno. I go through gloves like there in no tomorrow though.

I've beeen using the new oakley gloves for a few months now. awesome protection if you bash knuckles!great for bashing in general actually, good ventilation, not so great if you skid down the road on your palms like most people. Knuckle draggers prefered apparel.

I need a new set of gloves, my "fox" ones are screwed. I have been looking at the TLD Hotwheels ones. Or would you reckon the XC or something like that would be better?

xc is hotwheels, but hotwheels are $10 extra... i'm gonna buy a pair of camo ones if i can't get any hotwheels gloves to match my d2

Meh, I've ripped both my Oakley gloves in non-contact areas so i'm disappointed in them. esp for the price they want. Currently rotating between the TLD Apex carbon glove, and the XC glove, depending what riding i'm doing.

Well I got my XC gloves, Black ones. I'll give them the thumbs up!
My god, so comfortable! But the only downside is the little "red dots" for the brakes comes off easily.
But anyone wanted some new gloves, i would HIGHLY recommend TLD all the way now.
They are p-p-perfect.

mate...

how are the Apex gloves? I was thinking of getting a pair but I'm scared that the palm area is too thick? (I like thin gloves like 661 Nasty's and Oakley's). How do they compare to the Oakley when it comes to thickness in the palm area? and does the size match Oakley?

Yesterday for the first time in months I forgot to bring my Oakley gloves..so I had to revert to my 661’s which I had in my gear bag…well guess what? Yup…clipped a tree and took a big chunk of skin off one of my knuckle!! SUX

Any info would be appreciated!! Cheers

The Apex gloves are awesome. Palm area is thinner than the Oakley's, but still not as nice a fit as their xc glove. Doesn't mean they are bad thow. I still use these for the majority of my riding, but come race day, i'll stick with the xc gloves. Just seem to fit that lil bit nicer. Sizing is about the same. I use large in both and they are schweeet.

Shame about that poor tree ya clipped :P

Don't get me wrong, the fit of the Apex glove is awesome. Just haven't found any other glove as snug fitting as the TLD xc gloves. The Oakley DH glove is annoying on the area between the thumb and the index finger. This area was very tight on my glove, yet the rest of the glove was loose, so i couldnt go one size up. So after a few rides the right hand glove ripped on that exact point. 1 month later the left side followed in his brothers foot steps! The Apex gloves don't have this issue.

Oh and regarding that tree... I say North Shore pottential, not firewood dammit

MATE...SAME issue with my Oakley gloves...My Med's are too tight at that area as well as being a tad big at the top! I can take them off even when the Velcro closure is tight! And the Large were too big :(

what size Oakley and Apex do you wear?

cheers!

Bloody Oakley! It's such a shame too seing as they are a very nice glove. The carbon goodness had already saved my nuckles on several occasions b4 the rippage.
The Apex gloves sit alot higher thow covering right up over the wrists with 2 padded areas protecting the lumpy bone that pokes out on the side.
If you hate a high glove, the RaceFace DH gloves fit beautifully, but won't withstand as many crashes. They wristflex system they have and the rubber palms are a nice touch.
Still vote the TLD XC glove as the best feeling glove out there. If it aint bling bling enough for ya, you can always get the 'camo' or 'hot wheels' versions :P
Oh and after all that, I wear large in both gloves

Well because I'm different I'm going to go against the the grain and say that TLD XCs did not fit me at all (even in the right size). The fingers are just too long, or the rest of the glove isn't big enough; either way, I'm back on fox gloves.

what size do you usally wear in fox? I have small hands and short fingers...I HATE having extra stuff at the tip of the fingers...

I wear a large (10) in fox now; they're tight, DAMN tight, but that's how I like my riding gloves.

ive got a set of troy lee GP gloves that ive had for ages that use for stuffing round because ive just got a new set of XC gloves for riding dh

the xcs are so nice, nothing there to restrict movement or anything, and anyway how often do you land with your hands up side down to justify needing big pads on top, fair enough for moto gloves(roost and stuff)

Anyone know who stocks TLD gloves is Brisvegas -- so far 6 shops = 1 pair of XC!

Check out http://www.stevecramerproducts.com.au/

They were kind enough to hook us up with those gloves, and very easy to deal with.

Other than that...ForTheRiders or Ashgrove? Or perhaps NRG....

I might just stick with Oakley.

I seeked out and tried a pair of those new Specialized Fortress and they fit like crap!! I was going to maybe get a pair of the TLD Apex, but they seem a tad high and bulky, especially the extra padding in the palm.

I really need the carbon kuckles since I end to hit them often, and hard!! Heck I still have scabs on them from my last crash :(

Yeah, they're nice gloves. Only bad thing I've noticed is that there's big chunks of rubber in the middle of the snot-rag bit on the back of the thumb (on the XC gloves). Makes it hard to wipe the snoz on chilly mornings...
