I am riding a DaBomb CR8... Dirtjumping style thingy.. And have just built up a rear wheel with a Mavic 521 rim..
If I buy a extra wide trials specific rim, it is not going to fit right??
It will if I was running discs... But obviously rim brakes are better for trials..
Anyone had a similar hassel?? With wide rims in small frames that is... :D
Any remedies... Mainly for curiosity sakes..

The 521 is 28mm wide and a trials specific rear rim is probably 45-50mm so you should be able to work out whether it will fit but simply positioning you (V?) brakes 10mm further out each side and seeing if it works. Another option would be an Alex DX32 which are 39mm wide and great for trials.

But why do you want such a wide rim? What tyre/brake setup are you using? The purpose of a wide rim is to stop the tyre rolling at low pressure when you put a lot of sideways force on it. I am guessing from your bike that you are probably new to trials so this really isn't going to be an issue for you.
