a kicker up onto a platform that goes for 50 metres or so and is a metre wide. then a road gap off the end of it.

yeah i didnt explain it well enough at first.
does anyone know where the large gap from drift is on the gold coast??
nice idea..explain it more..
50m is pretty long, u might want a 15m platform
Is this what u mean::

the RBR had a funbox type jump, this guy is talkin a funbox or NS type thing that is accessed by a kicker (like RBR) but to a roadgap, not a downramp.
if it is the same who cares?
edit: think it's more like supertpoweredshore's
ride4fun

yeah supertpoweredshore's got it. it needs to be at least 50m so the rider has a comfortable amount of time to make the first jump onto the platform and gather some speed to clear the gap

50 metres is a hell of a long way tho... be aware that all your distance perception in actual measurements (not just judging time/speed for when you'll hit stuff etc) goes way out the door as soon as you're moving (even walking changes your perception of distance).

50m would be way too long... 10m should be fine

yeah gus hit it one handed :? :o i dont have anywhere to make it but it is a good idea. ive got all sorts of ideas for a crazy trail. switch-back hip transfers, never ending dirt jumps, large concrete drainage pipe to drop and more

if it was shorter, like 5m maybe, you could manual it... that'd be smooth. Probably difficult too...

Id say you wouldnt even need 10m but that would be a comfortable amount, it would be a pretty cool stunt. Depending on how big the gap at the start is would probly determine how wide you would want it but id say about 60cm.

can you imagine how much speed you would need to clear the gap. well you need to get that speed back up again after hitting the first jump to flat. hence the 50m. the height of the platform would be around the height of a 2 storey roof so the first jump would have to be pretty steep
How on earth are you going to construct a platform 3+ metres high, by 50 metres long?
I reckon 10-20 would be more than ample, if the platform was at the right height you wouldn't wash off too much speed when you land on it.

Dude 50 metres long is a stupid idea 2 storys up and i bet you wuldnt try it, you wouldnt lose all your speed off the jump if you either, 1. have remote amounts of skill, or 2. build it with a built in down ramp only a small amount of angle but enough to help you out and not have to pedal your heart out.

it's going to be built on a mountain somehwere so the downramp idea was good but i wont need it. i'll make it 50m if i want to :P hey konaman, how the fuck would you know what i'll hit?? just a bit curious

well im very doubting that you are going to hit a jump and launch roughly 5 metres in vertical height on two a one metre wide platform, with a 2 story road gap at the end and if you are hitting that sort of shit you would be riding for kona or somone.
By all means go and prove me wrong, if i went up too wade simmons and he said ill hit that i would believe him because he is a known rider but when a person on an internet forum who ive never heard of says it its hard too think otherwise then "if hes hitting that shit up how come ive never seen or heard of him before"
And 50 meters is a seriously large amount of wood thats all plus its a waste of wood seeing as though its not necessary.

from wat i no mountains are on a slope so you might only need 1m hieght and at the end you could be at the same hieght above sea level but the landing could but 10 metres below.

So you want to do this, but you still haven't found a decent location? What kind of planning is that called? :?.

dont be a forum bitch... if you dont believe someone, just dont believe them.. dont point it out, cos u might be proved wrong and end up looking like a twat...
and its annoying when people are like "you cant hit that!' and they're all like "yes i can!" and its like woaaah and they were like woaaah and i was like.... woaaaaaaaah...
