Given delays in the approval of the clubs lease over land at Awaba, the time frame for construction of the track and associated facilities has been brought back to a point where the club does not feel that it can do justice to the state series, or the riders expectations of what a round at Awaba should entail. While a track could be completed in the remaining weeks, any further delays due to inclement weather would result in corners needing to be cut in the construction of the trail or the trail and venue not being completed at all.

The additional time frame given for construction by delaying the round will allow the track to be fully operational at the time of the event, not a makeshift track slapped together to enable the race to be held.

Back up venues were considered for the July 14th/15th weekend, however these were not deemed to be appropriate for the holding of a state series race.

- Option 1 was to hold the race at the Amazon venue, however these plans were laid to rest given that the land that Amazon is situated on will become National Park as of July 1. Sadly this venue has seen the end of its use as a Downhill Venue.

- Option 2 was to take the event to Killingworth. The club did not feel that the use of the Killingworth venue for a state round was appropriate, given the short and non-technical nature of the track and the fact that transport can not be provided in Killingworth.
While the Lithgow races were a success, the club did not feel that this success could be, or should be, replicated at Killingworth.

The short version: The IXS Gravity DH round #4 is now re-scheduled for the September 1st/2nd weekend and NSWMTB along with HMBA apologise for the inconvenience caused. The next race in the IXS Gravity Series will now be the NSW State Downhill Championships on the August 4th/5th weekend.
