The TSG Brodie Mountain X Series Round 3 at Sydney Olympic Park on June 24th 2007 has been postponed to September 23nd 2007.
Due to an oversight on my part the construction of the Sydney Olympic Park BMX facility has forced a postponement of the TSG Brodie Mountain X Series Round 3 at Sydney Olympic. The BMX track is to be constructed in time for the Festival of Cycling which will be in conjunction with the twin national mountain X rounds. When the Work Permit is issued this week, the BMX contractor will commence site establishment the week of 18 June which is immediately after the Western Sydney MTB Club event on 17 June. The site should be unusable for many weeks during construction. The BMX track work is all under work cover regulations so every thing will be fenced off and riding a bike is considered too dangerous or need a work methods statement and risk assement.
Alternative venues of Ebenezer and Kurrajong were considered, but seeing Ebenezer has already been used in the series and Kurrajong only has slalom at this stage and the series is non slalom, the decision to postpone has been made. The initial date of July 22nd was too close to construction so September 23 has been chosen.
