Am I just following dicky's bandwagon? No, as I didn't name names or anything, I am just repeating what I saw. I was quite disgusted with the behaviour of quite a few people. Swearing at pedestrians is just not on. If they are in your way too bad you GIVE WAY. There is no question about it. And if they do get out of your way a "thankyou" cannot hurt either.

Being polite and courteous is underrated... especially when we're almost ambassadors to the sport. It's stupid, but as said, people judge a group by the exceptional few, and in this case, they see a bunch of arrogant idiots abusing people randomly, and they'll think of the rest of us in that way.

What i posted earlier was in direct response to what i saw happening. No more, no less, and i stand by it.
Singling out two people and mentioning names may seem a little unfair, but i spoke up because they grabbed my attention.
The fact that you two were arguing constantly (and using rather colourful language at every opportunity) is just as bad for our public image as sideswiping pedestrians.

I'm not trying to claim that nobody else does the wrong thing from time to time. I know i've stuffed up occasionally, but i do my best to either apologise for it, or calmly explain to the pedestrian that pedestrian crossings and side mirrors exist for a reason.

Nor am i trying to claim that pedestrians are always right, I've seen them do some interesting things - on the way back to the ferry, some idiot decided to run from the other side of the footpath to grab my back brake lever. thankfully it doesn't do a whole lot.

Jamie, i respect you for recognising that you did something pretty stupid, and i know you've already learnt from it.
All that whinging about the ferry (and yeah it pissed me off after a while too) was because he's employed by his dad and had to get up at 5:30am the next morning.
Granted, that's a sign of some maturity - but you're only young once mate, might as well enjoy it. Your dad knows this, he's been there too.

Michael, while you weren't really a problem in regard to road rules/pedestrians etc, you need to learn to deal with things like a respectable human being. Swearing your head off loudly at everyone (especially Jamie all night) and threats of violence over the phone do not fall within that concept.

In short: you're both welcome to come on more rides with us - provided you can fit in with the rest of the group, and understand why you need to do so.
