Dragged my sister along on the sunday to take some pics, been a bit busy with work so at the moment only the pics from practice runs are up, I will let you all know when the race run pics are up. She managed to get pics of every rider there, so not a bad effort.
Also, any feedback you have would be great, this is the first time she has shot at a downhill race, and is still testing to see what works best

Ha ha, funny you should say that, cause that one is of me. May not be very fast, but at least it looks like I am in pics...
***Got some more pics up, and still more to come.
If you want any of the pics in high res, PM me and I can pass them on. Full size for most of them is 3872 x 2592

great shots, well done. there is Round 3 of the King of Ballarat being held on 14th October 2007, at Black Hill - Ballarat. you should get some good photos there for that race.
cheers :)

Some nice shots there mel! Especially for your first time! The next race is at Black Hill soon, so try and get out for that for some shots!
Also on the photo side, there are some awesome ones which use the natural light, but some are abit dark and the rider seems to blend in with the background, this is where a flash would come in handy ;) Esecially for Black Hill as it can get quite dark there under the trees also.
My favourite one so far would have to be the one of Cruikshanks in the berm, sik shot.
Also Nerrina seemed to be abit difficult to take quality shots as the sun for most of the racing was behind the rider and made getting clear shots abit hard, but it seems you did well to over come this :)
Overall, top effort! I will be at the next KOB race taking photos still, so may see you there :)
I actually remember taking shots of the last run and looked behind me and i think it was you that was taking photos, and was wondering if i was in your way at all, but didnt say anything lol Do you use a Nikon? or Pentax? I remember it having one of them inprinted under the flash of your camera lol

thanks Patto.
Yeah I just got a Nikon D40x so still playin round with it a bit. i noticed a few were underexposed a bit, but unfortunately only after i got home.
Definitely thinking about getting a remote flash for the next race. Some of the Photo's i've seen in mags with the remote flash look insane!
And i think it must have been me, because my brother told me that it was you in some of my photos in run 3 and even some over the waterfall section!
Appreciate the feedback though, thanks and probably see you at some of the races
