Not a problem mate . i just want to try and start somthing for myself and as i go to ourimbah alot too i usualy post them for free on another site. as this is a bigger event and more people its an oportunity to make something...i know others shot and post for free, thats there choice. im just trying to start out in life.
to cover my costs and equipment wear n tear it all adds up.

yeah but it is his right to sell the photos to people if he wants to. i reckon some people would pay if there are some really good ones. I post mine for free because i like taking pics and just as a way to say thanks to everyone for an awsome weekend of riding. also mine arent as good quality, but if he wants to sell them then he can do that. you dont have to buy them after all.

Here is some quality photography that this bloke is offering, with plenty of shots well worth the money IMO, and you're chastising him, bagging out his equipment, and then think that by finding out the settings he's used to take these photos is enough for you to thank him & assume you're now able to take photos of the same quality and distinctness? What makes a good photograph is the photographer, not just the camera. Upcoming photographers like this do need to start somewhere, and schneller obviously has some talent.

And you think MTB'ing is expensive? Try offroad racing. Those guys are happy to fork out for decent pics, and thats after they spend 10's of thousands of dollars on their vehicles, pay exhorbanent entry fees to races, and get bugger all in the way of prizes or prize money. The pics offered in this thread are quite unique and he's obviously taken the time to set up his gear to capture some bloody good shots. It's a quality that should be encouraged, not bitched about! Give the guy a break. I can't imagine the intention as 'milking ppl dry' - the rate he's asking for is standard for many freelance photog's.
