This one has got up my nose for a totally different reason, but it's still a low act!

On Saturday night someone decided they wanted this number plate...
http://www.farkin.net/forums/album_thumbnail.php?pic_id=5058 (http://www.farkin.net/forums/album_pic.php?pic_id=5058)
and simply stole it off the front of the On-One ute while it was parked at the Golden Trout hotel/motel at Eildon for the Nationals.

Now if you know James McCormack (from On-one Oz) then you know what a nice guy he is and how much he puts in to the MTB scene by way of event and club sponsorship... in other words he DIRECTLY helps out the whole racing scene and grass-roots riders...

... and pinching ANYTHING from him is a real low act!

So... here's their address for it's return OR any info on it if you happen to know anything about it. NO QUESTIONS ASKED... we just want to get his number plate back so he's not $100 out of pocket to replace it.

PO Box 2022
RESEARCH MDC
VICTORIA. 3095

you can phone him on 0408 385 844

Yep, people steal stupid stuff.
I remember working for smith.
We put up a banner wahich got stolen over night
The thing is this banner is 15' long and 5' high.
what the F would they do with it once thay have it.
The Arnette boys had theres stolen 2 weeks earlier.

Who ever has it Give It Back. ( the number plate that is ).

I havent contributed to the MTB scene in a while
It feels good when you put in those long hours and people come up to you
and say great job.
but when they stel your stuff after riding the track you put alot of
time and energy into really really sucks.
I'll stop my rant now.

Stealing a number plate is a all time low. It probably wasnt someone who was into MTB's either...

I'd say its more likely to be someone who owns an on-one...
Pretty lame thing to do, I could imagine the appeal to a drunken on-one rider tho...

why not steal the car then?

why not steal the car then?

I'm not sure if it does, but i'd say a car that looks that good would have an immobiliser or something to that effect in it. As well as a good security alarm.

why not steal the car then?

Why would someone who steals a number plate, have ANY reason to want to steal a car.
A petty crime, or grand theft auto.

That was my imediate thought. It is pretty low. We live in a pretty fucked up world as it is without someone from our own small community doing shit like that. Hopefully they might read this thread and send it back after feeling guilty. Actually, I hope they don't read this and isn't a member of Farkin. Would like to think that everyone on here wouldn't do anything like that.

Karma will come around one day.

Yeh it happens all the time and it's good people it happens to ,i was ridin home one day and saw an old lady crying by her car and then i realised all her windows had been smashed  and once my mate locked his bike up and left it, when he got back every part was gone but the frame(which was the only part locked up) it's bullsh*t

I didn't want this to become a thread about the "evil" times we live in, but I have to admit it does my heart good to hear all these positive comments and attitudes from a bunch of young people that MOST folks my age just reckon are a bunch of trouble-making dip-shits.

Even if the number plate never turns up, this has cheered me up and I'll pass the link to this thread on to James (his ute) and I'm sure he'll appreciate the comments too.

Cheers

Actually this whole numberplate stealing thing reminds me of the story - where some guys distracted a speed camera operator, whilst their mate stole the numberplate of the back of his car. After attaching it to their van they proceeded to race past the radar at some very high (for the van) speeds.

sorry for going a bit ot
