Just wondered who else was really happy with how this fantastic and landmark film was supported in the awards the other day! I was so happy to see that it got the recognition it deserved!! :D

I missed all the who-har, but I think they took like 11? awards, quite well done for a guy who made shocking films like Bad Taste at the start of his career.

Well done "Pete" indeed

Interesting fact I heard this morning 1 in 1000 Kiwis have Stared ( well appeared as an extra) in atleast one of the LOTR films, pretty cool huh

Yeah, that was awsome. The design and casting crews serched New Zealand high and low for elf look alikes and humans.. etc. If you get the DVD's of the movies, you get "the making of" in there. It's really interesting, and has all that kind of information. I can honestly say, that although it wasn't truely accurate, i loved it. It was a MASSIVE movie to make, and a tuff crowd to please. I say congrads!!! :D

Shocking? You what?! Bad Taste is a fantastic movie.

No, seriously! If you haven't seen it, find it - it is great.

If it's anything like the perfectionism he strived for in LOTR, i'm sure i'll like it. I will put it on my "to watch" list.

I love fantasy fiction and the like to read but could never get into LOTR. I was disappointed with the first. Enjoyed the second, especially the evolving realiastion that Golum was schiztso and the battle scene. Haven't seen the third. I will get around to it one day but I am not rushing. I will wait for DVD. It would have been a massive job to make the films, but I still think that Star Wars is the finest FICTION movie ever made (gasp!!!)

I'll give u that one, but ONLY the earlier ones.. the new ones, IMO, were to commercial. But then again... they're sci-fi, not fantasy. As for fantasy all timers, i'd have to say i love the dark crystal (i know.. this is very sad, but i love these) and stuff like the neverending story etc... it was all so very new and creative! And labyrinth... we loves labyrinth...mmmm David Bowie...

"The bog of eternal stench", Magic Dance and Hoggle = greatest movie creations ever. Who would of thought?

Anyone else notice that Jack Black played the bad guy in Never Ending Story 3? He led the gang who hung out in the carpark.

You work at a video shop once - and you remember every cult movie in existence.

"Anyone seen TRON?"

For my mind, the greatest thing about the movie winning all the awards, was that we got to see Peter Jackson over and over again. That man had to be the best dressed person there....

TRON is like the original matrix. Except - a human hacker is transported into a computer program and liberates it from the "master controller" Very 1980's matrix.

And yes - those crazy 90 degree bikes were awesome.

Thats it - I'm going to watch it now!
