Hey guys,

Well it's that time of year again when most companies release their fresh produce and present their line up.
And the "N-volution" is in constant progress with NICOLAI.
Like most respected high manufacturer Nicolai improves their line up and caters for new markets as they appear and always manages to push the envelop further and further each year and wash the competition away with their creativity and designs.

NEW NICOLAI WEBSITE : www.nicolai.net

For 2008 Nicolai has added some "extra love" to most of their line up such as rework of the helius FR, and 2 new models added to the line up:

THE NEW ION ST :

http://nicolai.net/imgs/prod/800/08-ion-st.jpg
http://nicolai.net/imgs/prod/detail-08/08-ion-st.jpg

The Ion ST is the successor to the now legendary M-Pire ST. (2004 to 2007 – R.I.P.) As with it’s precursor, the Ion ST is one of the most race-orientated derailleur downhill frame within the Nicolai product range. The Ion has got a less progressive suspension than the M-Pire so the total amount of usable rear travel is enhanced. Due to it’s 4 bar design the Ion is also less susceptible to drive and brake effects than the M-Pire, and lighter weight means it is obviously easier to a accelerate. By using a 83 mm bottom bracket width and a 150 x 12 mm rear thru-axle this is a super stiff frame with plenty of clearance for your feet.

The ion ST is available in all the following colours :

Pricing:

We are currently working on the 08 pricing and possibly looking at putting complete builds together.

THE FMXTB:

http://nicolai.net/imgs/prod/800/08-fmxtb.jpg
http://nicolai.net/imgs/prod/detail-08/08-fmxtb-det.jpg

The FMXTB has been developed with cooperation from Joscha Forstreuter specifically for dirt and street riding. Compared to the BMXTB the FMXTB has a lower top tube to provide more clearance for tricks like the NFCC or tail-whip. The bottom bracket is also lowered in order to provide a better defined take-off. It is designed to be used with short dirt forks with 80 to 100 mm travel and has a steeper head angle for sharp and agile handling. The short wheel base facilitates the frames rotation - good for flips and 360s.

COLOURS:

The new FMXTB is available in all of the crazy NICOLAI colours
check out the colour chart here : http://www.nicolai.net/products/features/colorchart.html

Pricing:

We are currently working on the 08 pricing. Due to the dj and street market we won't be offering complete builds for this frame.

THE REWORKED NUCLEON TFR :

http://nicolai.net/imgs/prod/800/08-nuc-tfr.jpg
http://nicolai.net/imgs/prod/detail-08/08-nuc-tfr-det.jpg

The biggest advantage of the Nucleon TFR as an enduro frame is the protected G-Boxx shifting in impassable, rough terrain and in bad weather. The overall range of gears of the G-Boxx is equivalent to a 27 gear derailleur setup but avoids the derailleur’s susceptibility to damage from rocks and roots. The wide, rigid, swingarm with 167 mm of rear travel, as well as compatibility for forks of up to 170 mm, means that the TFR is good for hardcore usage in any kind of terrain. Pictures shown are the prototype.

wow they look sooooo good! always been a fan of their super smoothe lines. I gotta get myself one! Any idea on the weight of the first one? it looks like it would be a tad on the heavy side. Also, how heavy is the whole g-box system?

Hey mate,

well the new ion st weighs 5.2 kg as for the G boxx set up is supposed to be pretty light but as it still a constant prototype evolution i wouldn have any idea of the current weight of this particular set up.

NICOLAI overpriced version of a bottlerocket im guessing.
Yeah I know the bottle rocket design was more or less stolen for others probabily Nox ??

^ shutup.

The transition bottlerocket is a pretty generic looking design. At least the nicolai has proper 4 bar linkage.

What's the go with changing cranks with a g-boxx? Do they just take any kind bottom bracket/crank or only work with certain types? I'd hate to buy a frame as awesome as a nicolai and have to run truvativ on it :o

But that Nicolai is running a Horst link(rear bearing in the BETTER spot on the seat stays)so it'll be more active whilst braking and probably squat rather than jack(?)it'd also have a slightly more vertical axle path.

Yeh, I was being Sarcastic thou... isnt that the whole point of the icons is to portay such things that text can't. I take note that it is a Horst link set up but inessence there is no significant difference. calm down fellas

Ohh, sarcasm... whoops..

Sometimes I read those " " as more of a "matter of fact" kind of statement. meh.

By the way, what kind of cranks is the bike in the second last pic running?
