Just wondering if someone could give me some details on where to ride around toowoomba, I'm gonna be in town for a week starting sat. I've read about lefty, rain rut and mcfrenzy but don't know where any of them are?

Mc frenzy is at the end of hervey street (Mt Lofty).
Rain rut is at the end of rifle range road also in mount lofty.
and lefty is pretty much illeagel and out of action.

Where abouts are you staying?

There's a massive step up, some road gaps and a track called cheeseburger along the firetrails the wind around the mt lofty area, if you want to find it i'd suggest looking at the sign at the top of mcfrenzy, it'll pretty much show you around, but don't take themeda trail (that is, if you are facing down mcfrenzy, the firetrail to your left) and if you follow the one to your right to jellicoe St you'll get to the stepup and close to cheesy. If this post is too confusing, i think you need a local to pretty much show you around.

Te best way to do the tracks in my opinion is to go to Fairholme (a local girls school, ask for directions if you can't find it) and go down Fairholme St. Go right at the bottom of the hill and you will see a large grassy area behind a fence. Once you're through there is a small jump and step-up that are ok to your left and straght ahead (just to the right of the big fireroad) is Cheeseburger (downhill). Once you've finished that track ride along the fireroad (left once you get to the bottom). This takes you to McKenzie Frenzy (downhill) and is a jump in between.

The other option is to go to Rainrut (freeride) and go along the road to frenzy from there (Rainrut is at the end of Rifle Range Road).

Or if you finish all those and looking for something else you can go to Flagon, I've never been there though so someone else will have to tell you how to get there.

Hope this helps

Hey I just asked a similar question in the Toowoomba Mountain Bike Club section, dunno if you knew it existed on here: http://forums.farkin.net/forumdisplay.php?f=54

Well I asked about trails and XC, not downhill, but hey.

You've got good answers here anyway. My thread on TMBC is only a few hours old.
