After having never seen thsese wheels before, i need to know.
What are these, they say PRXS but i failed at finding anything about them on google.

So i would like to know. Who makes them. Are they any good. Why are they not on my bike yet?

Exactly.
you dmg any part of that wheel, and you're up for a whole wheel replacement.

Keep it simple, that way you can have wheels trued and spokes/rims or what ever replaced when the inevitable happens.

there are many plastics that have better characteristics in crashes than metals. think brittleness, malleability, shock absorption, plasticity etc.

edit: looked up the site - didn't convince me.

firstly - the wheel weighs 1597g WITHOUT the hub! thats front and back wheels. that is way too heavy to be competitive.
secondly - check out the picture of the muppet riding them. anyone that likes riding in that sort of lairy gear has no cred in my opinion

on the other hand, while they are $1000 a go, you get 2 replacements for $200 each as part of the deal, so thats more like 466 per wheel. still over the top though.
and they reckon they have a greater resistance to flat spots and require less maintenance.

Darren Pokoj runs those type wheels, not sure if there the same brand, but the way he thrashes his bike, I'd think those being on a DH bike would hold up pretty damn well.;)

They remind me of the rims that come on huffy bmx's that warp when you put them in the freezer.
