check out the new craftworks stuff it looks good, the new site is still under construction but apparently you can see everything in december. I can't wait to see the new downhill bike.

Looks nice, looks like

RS Revelation fork
Juicy 5 brakes
FSA headset
Monarch rear air shock
Stylo cranks with 3 front rings
X-9 derailleurs
Mavic RIDE wheelset
Maxxis Ignitor tires

Looks like all-mountain/light freeride spec to me - very much like my Norco Six

that has been a long time coming. the old website said "07 model under wraps"... so it will be good to see the "08" downhill rig finally!

I don't mean to be rude or anything but isn't the bike in the photo essentially a Cannondale Rush but maunfactured by Craftworks?

I can see the similarity:

Peel the stickers off each and youd be forgiven for mistaking which is which

general arrangement is similar, but like i say every time such a comment is made, lots of bikes are similar if you ignore the detail.

having said that, i'm fair sure that craftworks more recent stuff is atleast a little bit catalogue based.

I had my Hands on the new DH frame today. It was red, no decals.
Its changed a bit from the prototype Hemi was riding earlier this year.

I tried to take a camera phone shot but alas.. Looked like a beefier version of the bike on the first page.

On my way through the Bicycle Express workshop to test a bike in the car park i saw this number- crappy photo i know (hard to get while walking), i heard the guys talking about it and its def a craftworks- i think it is the new s1, all the parts where from a Cove. looks very Orange like. It was in the weighing stand when i was walking in - i think it saw about 18kg

I just checked out the bike in the shop - definetly the arranement is similar but i havent seen construction like this. All the CNC machining looks really trick and certainly is not catalouge. Looks a lot different in the flesh....

I was in Bicycle Express today again looking at the FRX and there is a downhill frame on display that was the same as i saw in the workshop not long ago. It has craftworks stickers on it. It still looks a bit proto -not proper stickers on it.

Any thoughts on the new FRX - im thinking of that or the new GT force

get the craftworks! i saw your other thread, (Flamers at the ready) if you're not already right into suspension designs and know what the bike shop are talking about more than they do, it won't really make a huge difference to your riding. each bike's strengths usually make up for its deficits.

plus the craftworks is way more patriotic and rare

Looking at the built up model of the DH bike it looks like a really long wheel base! It could just be the photo but just looking at the space betweeen the wheel and the seat tube it looks big! No rubbing wheels on the seat tube then! Have to wait until the official specs come out.

Good work Kayell snapping the pic of the new DH craftworks frame. I've been looking out for this new 08 frame, so it's good to finally see a pic. The rear end does look long, hopefully not too long. I'm sure Rob's been doing his research and has come up with some nice geometry.
I'm surprised he hasn't gone for an adjustable upper shock mount though on the down tube as per Orange and Morewood? Let's push for some specs if we can, can't wait to give one a go, it'll be great to see some Aussie frames out there again. Does anyone know the price?

I'd say they're made in Taiwan or maybe even China.I suppose that's the Australian way now ;)

They are made in Taiwan, but they're still an Aussie company. I'd hate to see the price if they were made here, it wouldn't be viable.
