i am wonder which would be best to get.

08 Marzocchi DJ1 -$300
07 RockShox Pike 409 -$600
07 Fox 32 Van -$600

These are all brand new, but im not sure which would be best to get.
I am steering more towards the DJ1 due to having a 20mm thru axel and the cheap price tag.

Any Opinions?

If these are for dirt jumping then get the dirt jumpers. They are designed for it.

The 32 Vans aren't too good for dj as you would have to go to the trouble of getting the spring rate right and would also have to get the RLC version to get the right sort of damping for dj.

The Pikes are like a beautiful middle ground. 20mm and resonably stiff, and with great damping range that can be easily adjusted to suit.

Get the U-turn model for perfect bar height.

yeah, but the fox 32 don't have a 20mm axle.

my bad, i just rechecked the stock, and the DJ1 are $400, the DJ2 are $300.

But i am still leaning towards the DJ1 being only $400, but i wouldn't mind the travel adjust.

Its mainly for Street and 4x with alittle bit of DJ and lite freeride.

Any more Thoughts?

Unless your going to use the travel adjust on a regular basis then its not worth it.

Where're you getting new Pikes for $600? Pretty cheap compared to the prices I've been quoted.

The DJ series are like indesructable(sp?) so they would be a good choice.
As for your range of riding ide be leaning towards the pikes. ie. rebound and travel adjust.
Not sure on what the vans are like..

i would personaly go the pikes as i love rock shox, but you may also want to think about the argyle 318 if you are going to do dirt jumps, they have the 20mm thru axle and are very strong and reasonably light, definatly lighter that the dj1's and are around $500 RRP

Get Pikes.
I have a set of 426's and they rip shit. Soooo light aswell.
The DJ range are just heavy and crap in my opinion..

I am now concidering the
Marzocchi 4x world cup aswell.
They are 110mm travel which is the perfect amount for my frame.

Has anyone had any experience with these forks, if so what do you think?

I ahv some 409s and they rule I use them for street, DJ and downhill and the travel adjustment is great:D

Im not sure what your talking about mine have a 20mm maxle so i think you should talk to however your looking at them from.

Hopes this helps:cool:

I own some Fox TALAS forks and though I don't ride street or many dirt jumps I still think nothing comes close. I've seen Fox 36's lowered to 100mm before, if you could get that done and had the money I think it'd be a great fork. Or you could just be like me and get some nice shiny TALAS you can drop down to 100mm anyway.

I have a pair of '07 Marzocchi DJ2's. I think their a pretty good fork but quite heavy. I say that Marzocchi forks are great for a harder rider or a beginner. But if you're a good rider or a rather light rider go for a pair of Pikes or Argyles (They usually get a good review).

i run pikes there great but i find them very soft and gold labels are great forks but are a bit more expensive than argyles i would defiantly look at considering argyles they are great stiff and strong forks

actually
08 gold labels retail for 679
08 argyles (with compression and stuff) retail for 699

i do believe that makes gold labels cheaper :O
