His name is flogoffnsky. I'd expect many a comment.
You cant just ask people what to upgrade, what dont you like about the bike.. Then upgrade it.

You COULD up grade everything why do you need to have other people to tell you what to do.
How about YOU grow up and make your own bike the way you want it.
Make it feel right for you and forget about what other 15yo's like yourself say about your DHfreeride BYke 4 LyFe.

ok ill grow up for 5 sces...
When you first get the bike ride it for a while and upgrade what breaks. Feel what you think need replacing or what might make it a better ride.
What style of riding are you looking at doing? Because this will change what sort of parts you might want to put on

question how much. Also why would you buy a bike if you were just going to upgrade. You will get a better deal if you buy a complete with better parts because companies get massive discounts on parts due to the ammount they buy.

thanks for that jamisparker
yer i want to get into street and dj. im trying to find out what you guys think would look good if i change. and im buying this bike because im getting it real cheap, so im getting a reasonable spec at a good price and the frame looks fairly solid
Zac Jamison
25-11-2007, 10:57 AM
hey well if you want to do street you dont really want a solid frame you want one that is equaly as strong as it is light e.g a suburban. give us a price on it. it looks like a good dj 4x bike but im not to sure about street.

Honestly I'd change everything but the shifter and rear mech. I'd get a new frame first if you're wanting to do some street.

Don't fix it if it ain't broken.
jamisparker
25-11-2007, 08:45 PM
Straight up i would get new rims(MTX, Dt Swiss FR6.1), cranks(Profile, wonbolts, saints or Hones) and brakes(Deore, Xt or juicy 5's) then go for your forks (argyles or pikes) then maybe some high rise bars (Ns make a couple of nice pairs)

There's really nothing wrong with it that specifically needs attention. With a large monocog frame like that you may find the ride harsh, and benefit from upgrading to a steel frame. However, you may not be worried by it, in which case the lighter weight of the aluminium frame you currently have will be more important. If you were truly desperate to change something you could fit new forks, but changing oil weight/height and or spring rate will allow you to adjust the current fork to your own personal preference. Bikes weren't designed to look pretty, their there for riding.

that is a pretty stuid question to ask because you havent even gotten the bike first why and how do you ask what upgrades to get befor youve even ridden it??? but if you really want a answer id get better forks with a tad more travel

06-12-2007, 08:26 PM
Mavic 721 rims are better then mtx i think
and cheep
you can get them of chainreaction for like $50
and they are a solid, light rim.

You shouldn't "pimp" anything without even knowing whats wrong with the bike, why don't you wait until you've ridden the bike long enough to know what needs upgrading.
And why would you even want to pimp something? It's not like spending money making your bike look good will improve your riding, your just wasting money to look even more like a poser.

WHAT!!!!!!!!!
i am completely outraged at all your stupidity, more travel? its a street bike!!!!! you want as minimal travel as possible, and high rise bars!!!!!!! with argyles!!!!!! come on!!!! you want the front end as low as possible for a way better spinning axis!! i cannot believe mods have not banneed this thread already! one guy even said 'keep everything except the reach mech' *smacks head* if you dont know anything about street gear and parts dont comment, and come on! if you dont have anything good to say using words like 'c*nt" and 'f*ck', go away, dont comment in the thread and stop whinging when someone tells you off, now the mods will think III am in the wrong, but he was asking a serious question, dont give him stupid answers even if YOUR big ego thinks your so clever and you just have to put in a smart ass comment, grow up, JakeGorey is the ONLY person who has said someething decent in this thread! dont get a sasquatch or a norco ryde, these are two of the WORST bikes i have ever seen for what you people call 'street riding' just so some of you know, Street is NOT hucking off 17 stairs street is technical, spinning, wallrides, tight lines, not big huge gaps! (on occasion there is)
im sorry for this rant, i hope johnny or grip attends to this thread and locks it like it should be, because this is just getting stupidly out of hand
:) i feel so much better
