I will be buying a brand new 08 norco 125 soon. (as soon as the docs say i can ride)
I was hoping to up grade to pikes (95mm-140mm) aposed to the Dirt jumpers 2s (100mm). One question. Can the frame take 140mm pikes? If not how much could it take?

I've seen a few rolling around with 150mm travel forks on older model 125, so unless the geo has changed? then you should be alright.

I would like 140mm travel or some light downhill/ all mountain freeride. I will still use the bike mainly for DJs so i do not want to get one of the norco shore hardtails.

it would slacken the head angle and make cornering feel like your on a chopper:p

just ride with 100mm forks for the dh and freeride. Its not going to slow you down too much, especailly if your predominantly dirtjumping anyway. A bigger improvement would be some proper off road tyres, took mine for its first spin today, and the k-rads are a little interesting in sloppy/loose conditions.

If you do end up replacing your forks, i would be interested in the DJ 2's.
yeah as the guy above said it would make the head angle to extreme and it would be like cornering a chopper so what i would reccomend is a sasquatch or something if you want that extra bit of travel or some other bike that was made for that size fork...and anyway the pikes would set you back at least$900 for brand new and $500 for a decent second hand version so why not spend the extra on a better all round spec?

Ive got pikes on my 06 125. I do plenty of downhill on it and it feels great, nothing like a chopper. Although when i got mine i had to take a little bit off the gusset under where the top and bottom tube meet, this is because the flood gate adjuster would hit it and not allow the forks to spin around completely. I don't think this would be a problem for you because the frames have changed since then. Anyway go with the pikes, they're a great fork.
