Hey Fellas, i just got a quick question about quicktime media player. As of late when ever ive gone to watch a quicktime video on the net it comes up with a Quicktime Logo with a question mark on it. Ive done a search around some forums and stuff and people are saying stuff about plug-ins:confused:. If this is the problem how do i fix this?
Thanks Jamie:)
Are you on a Mac or PC? and,
Have you checked www.apple.com/au/quicktime to see if you have the latest version out. I know that I posted a video up in Phat Vids and a few people have been getting a "Must have Quicktime 7.2 to play" message.

PS, a plug-in is a (mostlikely) third party or non original component of the quicktime structure and software code. in other words its like changing the forks on your bike. you may need to download a plugin for viewing streamed videos. the plugin could have errored or glitched, possibly deleted.
PPS, what browser are you using?

Eg when im on bebo or somthing, that has video clips/slideshows it comes up with the Question mark over the logo and i havnt changed any settings that i know of. Ill try downloading a new plug-in

Well fellas, ive tryed everything. I unstalled internet explorer and quicktime, then re-installed them both and it still hasnt changed anything. There both the latest programs too:mad:
Thanks for the help so far guys:)
Do you know what sort of files you are trying to play?
Only other thing I could suggest would be to download the Safari 3 browser from Apple, as they develop Quicktime, so there shouldn't be any compatibility problems there. That's probably a last resort though. I know that I sometimes get that 'Q' with the question mark over it if it is a Windows Media File, but then it just opens Media Player for Mac.

Yeah, it sounds to me you may have your file associations wrong? try to see if the file trying to load into QT is actually a .MOV or M4V etc... AVI/WMV needs windows MediaPlayer...
good luck!
