Well i think, depending on how serious you are, that you should buy a new bike. But if your comfortable on the Huffy, get it repaired and keep at it!

get a new bike if your getting serious with your riding. with all the money that you would end up spending on fixing the huffy will be enough for a new bike!

New bike huffys are crap unless you just ride around and do weak trails. They are cheap and good starter i guess. buit now you are starting to go big with 25cm gaps i would look to a dunlop. But i doublt your serious but thought i would be harsh just in case.

very funny, your pulling my leg! 'aving a lend are we?

Your bendy wheels and purple bike is good for lake jumping! You know the bike shop I work at has a policy that we won't even service these bikes because they can't be made to work properly.

But seriously, if you tickle your frame under the top tube before you ride you get three wishes. Wish for a real bike, wish real hard...........

hahaha there is no way he could be serious. all you have to do is look at the fat snaps and see that a 50cm drop is nothing.

If you plan on continuing in the sport then sooner or later the Huffy will die (god bless) and doors will open up for you. Dude, buy something more reliable and stronger. Talk to your shop (not Kmart) I mean a bike shop and they will advise you on what is appropriate for your ambition and your budget. Seriously that's how it works I do it everyday. Good luck mister.

I wish to say it were him but its not. I dont think he's game to make a new account after the harsh e-beating he received.

I hope thats what you meant anyway. :o

ok
actually get a new bike
for around $3000 you can buy a really good value trail machine (dual suspended) and will be much much smoother than your huffy!!\
australian mountain bike did test on some 5 inch trail bikes which all have other bikes which share the same frame but a lower cost spec.
even if you go to a bike shop asking to get your huffy repaired they'll tell you its not worth it and talk you into buying a new one (which isnt bad!!) it happened to me!

give us your thoughts pleaseIgnore all the begrudgers, they are just jealous of your Huffy. Try getting some new grips and maybe some coloured outers for your cables. If that doesn't work cut up the frame and use it to stir paint with.

I bought a huffy just the other day. it cost $200. I tested it - you can read about it in the latest AMB.

It wasn't total crap. I was actually quite surprised. It was pretty crap, but not total crap.

Out of the box, the front wheel was way out of allignment - like dished a full centimeter out - guess they don't know a lot about lacing disc hubs. So the steering was pretty nasty on the flat n smooth - not helped by the minimal fork trail. Other things that sucked included the suspension - way way way undersprung for 90kg of me - and the seatpost - way way way short for 184cm of me.

But it acutally rode quite well. Yeah. Untill it got out of it's suspension's depth (which it did pretty quickly) it was ok for a heavy cheap bike. The frame was pretty sorted, the tyres were reasonable (at least as new), the Shimano gears shifted the way Shimano gears shift and the disc brake on the front actually worked better than the rim brake on the back.

It wouldn't last long though. The main pivot bracket is very fragile looking and I doubt the bushes would stay tight for long. It'd break or wear out pretty fast.

If you're up-front about this and you have got a Huffy - good for you, welcome to the sport. Now it's time to move up to the next level and get a bike (like a low end giant) that will take you further in more comfort and with more reliability.

I can't believe how much useless dribble is in this waste of space.............

Talking about Huffy's isn't funny whether you're being serious or not. Seriously, it isn't funny. Maybe it was two or three years ago but now? Nah..........
