yet another stunning moment for the Australian government and their foriegn affairs.

2 australian sailors were detained in the US for being involved in a brawl at a bar about football and gridiron or something stupid like that. they have had their passports suspended and will face US courts.

now not long ago in Townsville US sailors based TO DEATH and uni student here, they were able to get on their ship and go back home while the whole matter was swept under the carpet and they were not even court marshaled or given a criminal history.

WHAT THE HELL is all i say to that.

yes they should have justice for being involved in what happened over there but why should they be kept over there and potentially jailed over there when a similar situation but much more sever occured here but no action was taken?

my thoughts on this issue because its pissing me off.

what he said, australia is trying really hard to suck up to america and keep on their good side. im sure it wouldnt go down well if two american soilders were jailed for life in the american books. but i still find it outragous that the aussie guys should still be in trouble, they should be free to go

It's absolutely right that they be left to face the law there, and absolutely wrong that the sailors who killed a uni student were allowed to slip out of the country.

Perhaps we're leading by example here? Or something.
