Yeah she can get lighter mate, but I'm really happy with how it rides, VPP all the way man!

As to it being worth all the time away, well the missus may disagree but I think it is!:p

Maybe an M6 when I get back from the next one...:D

Yeah, its a machined piece of Ti. pressed in instead of the standard spindle. John from Bikeculture (http://bikeculture.com.au) hooked me up.

Good luck for BOTM, I know I'll be voting for it!
6" rear rotor just for weight?

It stands up by itself!

Cheers for the vote dude :)

Yep the 6 inch rotor is merely for weight, from speaking to people who run them the difference in braking is not really noticeable.

i was also wondering how you got the bike to stand up like that in the picture.. you cant see anything holding it there!

Nice bike champ. You could loose a bit of weight by loosing the diablos, they are a fairly heavy bar. I could tell the difference big time when holding them with a set of ea70's.

Looks sexy but. ;)

Yeah, that is one really stealthy looking frame. That black looks awesome. Also, the spec is amazing, you sure have spent some well spent $$$, thats for sure.

As far as for it standing up, he has most likely photo shopped out the stick, or what ever, or hidden it really well, or it does stand up by it's self.

Ride her hard,

There was a bit of a wind, and being so light we were able to hold it there and then the wind held it up:D ha ha, nah a bit of PS.

Ahhh, thats nearly true, it was in fact propped up by a single strand of Chuck Norris's hair!

I cannot disclose how we got it or what part of his body it is from...upon pain of Chuck opening a can of whip-ass on us if he finds out its missing!

ThePig

They've been out for a while now, they have some improvements over the 07 model to reduce snappage!

02-12-2007, 11:17 AM

Really nice. Good to see some Socom's making it to OZ. They are ripping the DH tracks in the US from what i hear. 17kg is pretty darn tidy too, tho there is skope for even more dieting i guess.

One question though, why no "FRO" badge? Did it actually come with the std Intense headbadge or was that just a little custom touch?

Cheers,

ThePig

This frame came with the usual Intense badge. There is a FRO decal on the downtube near the bottom.

I'm glad it did, I like the Intense badge more than the FRO one. :D

I am in absolute amazement mate. That thing is a pure DH race machine. I can tell you that it has my vote for BOTM.

I cant beleive its only 17.51 kg's!!

There is still plenty of weight that can be lost too! At least a kilo's worth

I would recomend a set of EA70's or some sunline v1 bars to replace those awfully heavy diablousbars.

With your planned upgrades im thinking the bike should be down near 17 flat?

Have fun riping up on the trails mate. Hope the bike goes well for you

Had a look at those Sunline bars the other day, im thinking they're a pretty reasonable upgrade. I have heard a lot about the Gamut P40 too.

I think I might keep the 8 inch rotor and go the P40 and new bar option later on down the track.
