Not a fan of your template, but I do play cricket for Gellibrand Cricket Club B turf and occasionally A turf. Im an opening bowler, used to consider myself an attacking batter but I have been in crap form for about 2 years with the bat:(

This week we are chasing 220 on a very good batting wicket, should be a close game. I think my figures were 1/36 off 16 on the weekend, but I got two runouts (I put it down to the pressure caused by my tight bowling;)).

Already our ground has dried out to the max, C grade teams are consistantly scoring 400+ which is just crazy, the grounds are so quick and dangerous and the pitches have become batting heaven, which makes my job a whole lot harder!

Thoughts about today's game:Will Hussey ever pass bradman's average of 99.94?

It's bad enough that cricket is on the TV and Radio seemingly 24 hours a day over summer in this country, let alone being discussed here, one of the few places I come to get away from it.

Mods, please delete this thread forthwith!

And I would just like to see what the Farkin communtiy thinks about cricket.

Isn't it banned under the Geneva convention? I once had to watch half a day of test cricket and I swear I felt like I was in some sick twisted Guantanamo Bay style torture experiment. After 30 minutes a headache started to develop as I tried to comprehend the scoring system, this then began to increase exponentially as the play began to involve more and more obscure rules. After an hour my brain had begun to hurt so much that I drove a pencil through my eardrum to make it stop.
This eased the pain somewhat and left me in what should have been a sweet catatonic trance yet still I grew frustrated at the lack of action. 2 hours in i had begun to pace the room frantically mumbling to myself, pausing occasionally to masturbate and frequently to hit my head against the wall. After 3 hours of this mental torture I tore my eyeballs out and played a rudimentary game of marbles with them to alleviate the immense tedium.
'At last!' I thought. 'Sweet, sweet release!' Alas it was not to be. By a cruel twist of fate I could still hear the inane commentary out of my one good ear tormenting me as if it were Poe's Raven. so I had no choice but to gather up my bloody ocular marbles, do up my trousers and leave the lounge.

Well, you did ask...

Age:28
Bowler/Batsmen: Whatever needs doing
Rep Cricket: Once played for school
Biggest cricketing acheivement: Hitting a six over the long backyard boundary last christmas with a shitty, half-size plastic bat, one handed (without spilling a SINGLE DROP of my Coopers sparkling held in my other hand)

Im bored Im giving your template a go:p

Age: 17
Bowler/Batsmen: Opening Bowler
Rep Cricket: Think I played Hatch once? I never played for those teams because you had to miss holidays and train at stupid locations.
Biggest cricketing acheivement: Probably hitting 66 of 35 balls once and hitting my 2nd ball for 6 and taking out an opponents mum:cool:
Thoughts about today's game: Australias batting line up is way to good for test cricket, we will never see a bowler as good as Shane Warne, Murali chucks it and he knows it, Phil Jaques is a hack despite scoring so many runs, every left hander should model their batting on Micheal Hussey.

For those who play on turf, what balls are you using? We were always using Platypus balls which were great, you got the occasional dud but overall good quality. Recently we switched to Kookaburra, they are a lot harder and keep their shape better, but the seam is smaller and they usually stop swinging after about 3 overs which sucks. Im having to rely on actually putting the ball in the right place now:(
