Hi Guys & Gals,
I've found a 2001 Santa Cruz Super 8 I am considering purchasing. It's got Shivers, Avalanche rear shock, purple hayes RF cranks SC hubs, Mag 3.0 rims etc. Seems like it's in pretty good nic.
Would you consider 3500 aud too much to pay for this ? If so, what do you think is a reasonable price ?

Saw your message requarding wanting a super 8. Do you want one of those specifically or would you consider a santa cruz bullit. Ive got an 03 bullit for sale, all the details are in the for sale section "complete bikes". I saw you were going to pay 3500 for the super, ive got a complete that im willing to sell for around 4000 ( willing to go under). If your interested check out the details and message me.

Thanks for your replies guys however I am pretty set on a S8 - already have a freeride bike.
What would an S8 be worth to ya ?
I'm happy to hear of other bikes you guys think I should consider (but no 222's thanks )

i reckon 3500 is a bargain with an avy- just watch the swingarm as they are prone to cracking

I reckon offer $3000. It's a 3 year old DH bike...

Yep - that's what I have been thinking - 3K. If it's really exceptional I might stretch to 3500.
Can anyone tell me if having forks and shocks sitting around not being used mucks with the seals ? Apparently this bike hasn't been riden in a while.

I picked up the S8 tonight - paid $3150 with crap full face helmet & ok knee & shin pads, spare rotor & rear hub. Shivers need a seal kit + need new headset & brake line so I need to spend a little. Everything else looks in good nic with unused rear wheel (24) & hub.
Thanks to all you guys for your help & comments - will post a pic when I get it together.

yep just check that its a new rear swingarm. basically if it looks REALLY beefcake it is right. the old ones tended to crack in the holes. but this can be fixed with a welder.

Do you mean the one in the Trading Post?
Super8s suffer from alot of flex in the swingarm, to me Davers bullit sounds alot better bike.
