View Full Version : Electrical storm last night?

I must be going crazy!
I was sitting in bed last night, on the phone, and at 11:11pm the whole sky just lit up.
Can anyone explain it? Or did anyone else in Melbourne see it? It wasn't stormy, so I don't think it was lightning...
Is it possible that there can just be a huge surge of energy in the sky, and cause a blinding light? It wasn't coming from a certain point, it was a constant brightness all over, and flashed about 3 or 4 times... Almost gave me a seizure!

Maybe I just experienced a religious phenomenon, or...
have been abducted by aliens :o

.:EDIT:. It seems kind of unreal now, but the person on the other end of the phone saw it too last night.
And I just spoke to her this morning, and she still remembers it. So I'm not crazy! :cool:

didnt see it last night, i was driving at that time, maybe i was way too tired to drive.

did see a similar thing about a month ago, at about 11pm the night went fully bright as day for a second or so.

its definently time for a foil hat i believe.

Nope, you're not crazy, I saw it too (plus the 3 people I was with). We were just stepping out from the Astor when we saw the bright flash, no clouds, no thunder, it was very surreal!

I saw a similar thing to that in Adelaide about a year ago. I was sitting on couch watching TV and the whole sky just lit up, it happened around 5 times in half an hor, noone at home believed me when I first said it but dad saw the 3rd one. Has anyone got any ideas on what this could be?

yeah has happen up here in brissy a few times,. last time was about 10 pm and i was actuley looking outside cause assigments as you all no can be boring and could see stars then abruptly the whole sky flashedi was like wtf??

I assume that it was the sky reflecting lightening from somewhere else like over the other side of town
