Been without a DH bike for a little while now, waiting for the damn Sunday's to arrive. So my little DJ has been receiving some attention in the meantime.
No spec list, I'll just let the pics do the talking (sorry to the guys on dial up)

Yeah, front brakes are pretty pointless on a bike after all.
More minus points for having gears as well...
Sweet bike btw, practical as well.

That is one very nice Yeti, sure you want to use it just for DJ, be better for 4X.
I love those new XT wheels, they look awesome. How do you find them, and if I may ask, how much they set you back.
That is one hell of a bike, got my vote for BOTM.

I have the XC version of those wheels and they are awesome.
One of the best specs I've seen on a bike for a while.

Thanks for the comments guys. Bike comes in just under 12kg which is pretty sweet, all the parts on it are fairly sensible.
As for the front brake, well I use it for quite a lot of things not just jumping. Lately I've been doing some DH runs on it (with different tyres obviously) whilst waiting for the 08 steed. Also I do a bit of mucking around on the street and most of all its a pump track weapon. Try and get to our pump track at least once a week and its just magic, its accelerates so hard.
Off for some pumping now actually, woot!

Nice looking build there.
I would love to see a picture of it on the scales if you have one handy?
The DJ frames never look the same in pictures, it never shows the shaping of the tubing.

05' Yeti DJ.

i would think it would be more of a 4x oriented bike so a front brake would be quite essential.

hah nah dude, this is still the same frame, it just got some luvin thats all. this bike is for life. it is by far my most favourite bike on the planet. even when i had the sinister i still held the yeti in higher esteem.
as for the wheels, well lets be honest, they've only been on the bike for a couple of weeks so i can't give any real long term opinions. but so far they are super stiff and the new xt hubs have 3 times the engagement points of the old ones. plus im a huge fan of center lock hubs so im a happy chappy. the wheels are also tubeless so its nice to have that option. the only downside to the wheels is they have a mild hypnotising effect to those watching you ride. they start wondering down the street to buy some orange sherbet......

That is one nice DJ. What's the secret to getting it to under 12kgs??? Mine(it's posted a few pages back) weighs in at 13kg, on some crude scales and i was trying to keep it as light as possible.
very nice and clean
cant wait to build mine up but not too that extensive pimpness

I'm actually not sure if his build is sub 12kg or not. I have seen lighter looking builds that have been just over 12, and I'm not actually sure if this would or not.
The main problem with getting a sub12kg yeti Dj is the frame is actually fairly heavy. Something like a GT Lopes has a frame thats over half a kilo lighter, and that really makes a sub 12kg bike alot more feasable.

Thats got to be the nicest 4x/DJ i've ever seen...
I reckon you could shave almost a kilo off if you got some RockShox Reba Worldcup Airs or some Fox Floats on it and a Lopes frame or something similar.

According to reliable sources, you don't ride it at the pump track, just sit on it and watch :p
Looks a lot better than when I saw it earlier in the year. Any shots of it in use, or are you only really using it to walk cleo??

you can confirm with VW NUT on here that the wheels were turned in anger this afternoon at heathmont dj's. took me a while to get my groove on but the flow came after a while.
the rest of the time it sits in the shop making friends with those that come in.
must say though, the CK headset hasn't cracked up to be all that great, constantly remaining 'not quite tight'
