View Full Version : What I guess is another STP question.

I have a chance to get an STP 1 build with a Pro frame (or any mix and match) for next to nothing (I work at the bike shop, a customer wanted a pro component spec on a 1 frame). Should I just do it (I'm talking about as cheap as you can buy it after tax...no giving out the amount)? This'd be for a bit of jumping, but mostly trail/log park kind of stuff. Sort of an AM bike. I don't want to break my Anthem.
Build would probably be white pro frame, white Azonic bars, white arione (spare), possibly singlespeed but otherwise stock parts, unless there is anything I should change.

Yes
I think that would be a mad bike, the white frame looks sick!! Actually so does the blue one
If anyone wants to swap their 08 for a almost new 07 STP 0 frame please let me know

That would be sick. If you can build it for next to nothing, why not go for it?
I want to build one up for everything. DH, geared commuter, XC, the lot. They're such a versatile bike.

Hopefully it all pulls through then. I've got to get set up for time trials first, so a bit of money has to go there.
You're right about it being a versatile bike. I want something that I can go have fun on, XC race bikes aren't amazing for that.

Bars: White Azonic strip bar
Stem:???
Post:whatever works
Saddle:White arione

Derailleur: ??? xt shadow maybe?

From experience in pimping my road and mountain bikes, too much white can be bad. You need a mix. But thanks for the suggestions.
I like juicys, but it is a budget thing. If I start trying to sell off the stock parts, I'm gonna be out of money very quickly.

Orright, yet another change of plans (once again, I want to get this done some time, not definite). I'm gonna ditch the stock parts and put on a bunch I now have ready for use (Recons, what length though, 80, 100 or 130?), regular ol wheels, Juicy 3s, still going new bars, stem and maybe wellgo mag pedals,
10 gears, 22/32 up front and 13/15/17/20/23 spaced for good chainline at the rear. Also means the derailleur stays out of the way.
Orright. On pedals. Readily available I can get Azonic Accelerators, sealed Snafu Concaves (CHEAP) and a host of BMX pedals. What are they like for DJ/FR? I only ever use clipless.

For dirt jump/uf u want a single chain ring.

I've got a blackspire NS1 guide coming, so I'll probably end up running a single ring.

Finished.
Pics some time tomorrow.
Working on modding an NS-1 guide to work without bashy (there's one integrated into the guide anyway)
Running 7 gears (11-26) with an idler for street tricks...If I ever manage one. (cheater fakie. Basically freecoaster)

I know. It's turned into AM/DH (except for those tyres...temps) rather than DJ.
