hey guys, what do you think of the norco havoc 08?
i want mainly a street bike. or is it worth shelling out another $80+ for the ryde. Trying not to stray too far over $1000. or stp2?

if weight isnt a problem go the ryde because my friends ryde seems quite heavy
if weight is a problem go the havoc cause it has an aluminim frame.
i havnt weihged them but im tipping the havoc would be lighter.
use the leftover 80 bucks to get a back disk brake

yeh i saw the havoc has only a rim brake on the back. that should give enough stopping power, for street riding anyway, shouldn't it? was that more of a cost thing over performance?
I like the colour of the Ryde and they retail for around $1199

Havoc which is around $1099

And then the STP2 you mentioned is around $995

i'm pretty sure those prices are wrong
i think the norco website has the wrong prices up
i think the prices are:
ryde = 1050 or 1099
havoc = 999
stp2 = 995
i think thats how it is but correct me if i'm wrong
my brother just bought the ryde for 1050 or 1099 (can't rember which one :p) and he's very pleased with it and i personly love the paint job on it :D

they all look pretty good to me. but are all the geometries suited for street riding, or are some more aimed at jumps etc?

Get the '08 shred retail for $1,000, i think.
I have an '07 model its light good for little bit of street and park, and i always jump on it and there just a really strong bike

go the havoc, its cheaper and im pretty sure it has better specs than the stp2 and i think you'll find the ryde to heavy for street aswell, and i'd keep the rim brake for street cos with disks you'll end up hitting the rotor and wrecking the brake

not sure but its got to be heavier than the havoc because its a cromoly frame so it would be harder to hop and stuff, and you dont really need the strenght of cromoly for street anyway

get the havoc.. go ss for street and remove front brake.. should be a good street bike.. one of my mates has a single speed havoc and uses it for street, doesnt look too bad.

according to the norco website, the difference between the ryde and havoc is only approx 1.5 pounds = 700 gms. is this significant? what is the average weight of a good street bike?

i'd go with the norco ryde or havoc....but go to local bike shops and ride each one of those bikes and see which one is the best feel for you.
