when measuring the length of a rear shock where do you measure it from, is it from the middle of the eye to the middle of the other eye? if anyone could post a diagram or picture of how to that would be great...and i know i sound like a retard, but i have got a feeling that my rear shock is 0.25 too short. thanks guys

What frame do you have?

Size of the shock varies, but if you post your frame one of the tech heads here probably just knows the size off the top of their head.

Centre of eye to centre of eye is correct.

If it is too short like you say, what length and what sort of shock do you happen to have? If its a coil, I may be interested if you are selling (that is if it is too short).

I have an 06 Mongoose Black Diamond Triple frame with a 8.5inch Fox Vanilla RC. But it is meant to have a 8.75inch shock, so that means that i am getting less rear travel and a slacker head angle???

And yea i can trade this shock for a 2.75inch shock if anyone is interested

Ah sorry bud, I thought you meant in shock length. ie 7.75 e2e compared to like an 8 inch e2e.
