river jump

im planning on building a river jump, and i was thinking just a metre high kicker? would that be ok? also planning on using just a kmart bike, would it hold? thx for ur help.

I'd make it bigger. The bigger the better.

Also, you can use almost any bike you want.

yeah man, that would hold, wouldnt matter if it broke, there only like $70-$90...


just pad the top tube and the forks up, cause impact can hit hard, and make some kind of flotation device on it, so you can get it out of the water, without wasting time looking for it.


another thing, you should make a ramp out of wood.. saves a bit of time, and you can always move it foward/back or an another location throughout the river.

I had a creek jump once, we made a dirt jump at the top put it was off about a 2m high ledge it was good untill my mate tried a 360 and landed horizontal on the water and broke a rib from the impact, we never rode it after that.
we used an old shit bike with milk bottles tied on to the frame, worked fine.

I'd suggest a bigger ramp. I also suggest you try and use an old bmx as most kmarters don't really have a top and bottom tube as such. Zip Tie/Duct tape a milk bottle onto the top tube.

hi mate we had a creek jump about 10 months ago which we used pretty muche every day

we just got any old bike and put 2 tubes through the spokes, and then put tubes around the whole bike (handlebars, frame e.t.c)

probably make the kicker a bit bigger
