So i've been out of mtb riding for like 6 months and trying to get back into it by drowning myself in new riding dvds,
And in every single new one theres reference to all these Qashqai events! where the hell did they come from?? in 6 months its like its gone from zero to hero, and who do they think they are trying to take over red bull and their awesomeness in extreme sport event sponsorship!!

Hmm, yep. Because "They" (a car) can take over Red Bull (an energy drink). What kind of a thing to say is "who do they think they are?"

This thread is so uninformed that I can't even decide what to say.

I enjoyed watching Lance McDermott in the Parks when they air it on Fuel. Love his 360 handplants.

Redbull doesn't have a monopoly on organising good events

Can you say moron?

"taking over our sport" are you fucking serious? its not taking over its a competition just like any other, its not 'taking' over it's 'supporting', red bull isnt the bee's knee's, they can hold a competition yeah... but still, geez.

Your kidding aren't you? The more money put into the sport the better. And if that money comes from outside the industry well thats even better.

You cant be serious. So what if a new company wants to sponsor a new competition. The more competitions there are the more opportunities there is for more riders to get shown on the professional scene. This can only be good, and it isnt like red bull dominated the sport until then, I can think of a little competition called slopestyle sponsored by addidas, which i think is probly the most popular event in freestlye mtb. Coming close behind it is probly the slopestyle event at whistler sposnored by kokanee if that is spelt right. Red Bull has done alot for the sport with the red bull rampage. Sorry man didnt mean to rip on you i just relised how it sounded but that is just what i think about the topic.

It's just a big name corporate sponsorship, I don't see why anyone would care if one sponsor is replaced by an equally faceless one.

Did you really need an extra post to tell us that?

More sponsors more people get involved/hear about Mountain Biking.

You, are a n00b. The more sponsors the better, it doesn't really matter who or what they are. MTB isn't exactly the massivest sport in existence, and we need all the money and publicity we can get.

Kia/Hyundai/Right Guard etc have been sponsoring BMX events & riders for many many years, it's hardly hurt that sport.
