Happy New Year, hope everyone has a great 2008.

I will be in Hong Kong next week and was wondering if anyone knew of any good shops where i can get some gear at a cheaper price?

things i want to buy
-> Garmin Edge 205 (305 if its cheap enough)
-> Camelbak MULE
-> Carbon Fibre handle bar / stem / seat post
-> general bargain hunting :-)

Any info / advice is much appreciated,

Terry

Flying Ball Bicycle Co
http://www.flyingball.com/

is probably your best bet.

It's on the mainland follow the instructions
on their website on how to get there.

Generally its cheaper there but the expect ridiculous bargains.
Lots of nice bike porn though

there are definately good shops on the island. All three people I've met here in Beijing that have Turners, Rocky Mountains and so on got them from HK somewhere. Sorry I can't give you anymore details, but there are definately some shops on the island.

Oh sweeet!

Might actually use that info myself one day if my shoulders ever heal! there's a distinct lack of anything quality here in Beijing. :(

Another vote for Flying Ball.
Picked up a carbon black Giro Atmos from them last year for 170AUD, when most shops here had them for over 300.

A simple tip if you're stuck for good bike stores in other countries;
Just visit a bike manufacturer's website and look under international dealer section. That tends to unravel a whole network of good bike shops around the world.
