Looking for cheap set of GT Cro-mo or kona project 2 rigid forks for my commuter, must be unbent (ie any more than from the factory), canti mount, 1-1/8 threadless. Would love the good GT ones they made mid 90's, they were gloss black and came on the avalanche.
DO NOT want any extended, gusseted up, disk mount dirt jump style forks, aka DMR, planet x etc.

If all goes well with me buying a set of forks for my bro, I might have a set of GT forks that came off my old Avalanche. They're a red colour though.
How long do you need the steerer tube to be?
I used them for maybe a year, and they've been sitting in the garage ever since. I was just about to put them back on a bike, but the steerer is too short.
I'll take some pics tonight when I get home and post them up if you want.

Doesn't have to be really long, its an 18" frame with a fairly normal headtube length. But maybe if you could measure it so I had a bit of an idea?

Right-o
Well they came off a 20" GT frame (the difference between the 20" and 18" head tubes was huge!) but they don't seem to fit it any more.
I'll measure them tonight and let you know how long the steerer is.
Also, my friend used to have some black ones on his bike, so he might still have them (although I think they may be a bit bent) so I'll chase that up too.

If I do sell them, it's only cos they won't be of any use to me in the bike I am trying to build up, so I wouldn't be after much. Maybe $10-$20 plus postage?
They've got a few scratches on (maybe a respray would be worthwhile so they suit your bike) them though, but they look like they're straight as.

No probs. Yeah I'm going to respray whatever I end up with so some scratching etc is fine.

OK The steerer tube is about 165-170mm long
I took some pics, but I'm having trouble uploading to my website so I can e-mail them to you if you want
