I just brought a Specilized bighit and i didn't like the forks that were on it so i was looking around and i found the cheapest prices in town well not realy in town it was at mortdale bit of an adventure by train but it was worth the savings. I picked up a set of Rockshox Domaim 318's for $750 instead of $1000 a 661 asault suit for $129 which the cheapest i could find in wollongong was $165.
So if your looking for a great deal you can find them on the net in google search and order off the net or u can go to the store like i did because its just up fron the station.

Okay, we all know how great the service and prices are from TBSM, but I think this was a little bit of a pointless post. If you want to comment, use the search function, find a topic there and post your opinions, don't start one of your own.
But glad your happy and found what you wanted cheap, enjoy farkin.

Yes TBSM is awesome, have shopped there a few times. For those wondering what their ordering system is like, it's excellent, no automated credit card ordering though, the guys call you for your credit card details. My package has always been delivered the day after that phone call.

I went there last week and got a DHX 5 for my demo 9. Every other shop in Sydney said it couldn't be done, or it would take weeks and cost about a grand... The bike shed did it that day and it cost me $569. So i got some Boxxer world cups and a new pressure suit.
The whole lot cost me the same amount as most shops would charge for the
front shocks alone.

I've bought many things from there and always received unreal service. Even if it is over the interweb. They just always seem to go out of their way to help.

I tried to buy some mechanical disc brakes from them over a year ago.
Don't know if the online shopping works the same way anymore but it used to be you would order from the site then they would contact you with payment directions.
Never heard from them so I ordered from DHDirect and got the brakes in 3 days.

more of the same. I got my bike there and the boys have been great! good service and always helpful!!!!
On the other end of the scale,... i had a busted chain ring whilst riding a trail at wollongong. Went to this pretty big bike shop there. The service was completely shit house. Basically a guy was fixing a tire and he could not be bothered reaching behind him to hand me a chain ring. This was while another 3 guys were making themselves busy opening boxes and doing nothing. Maybe it was because i was in my DH gear and they probably hate DH guys

Thers isnt going to be a wollongong shop cause i went in there the same day that issue of AMB came out and asked one of the guys there and he said they were just joking and fooling around with spearmans, i thought that was funny but if it was to happpen spearmans would loose lots of customers and would have to drop their prices but there would still have the ones that are loyal to their LBS.

To be honest, I don't really think spearmans would lose alot of customers. They have a great reputation and service is always good. When you think about it there isn't really room for another DH oriented shop in the gong. After all, all of our DH trails are on the verge of being closed down:(

Well i think spearmens service is great but i heared from others that thery are really bad towards them. I guess if you want a giant you go to speamens the bike hub will deffinatly lose customers seaming the bike shed mortdale stock the same bike at a much cheaper price but the bike shed armour and accesores are cheaper than spearmen but there are a lot of loyal customers of spearmans but there not moving so that doesnt really matter.

Haha true there bud. They aren't to happy about servicing the brodie. I wonder how they will go with the stp when its back together.

Probably because you smelt really bad ( I know I have ridden with you) and that the DH gear was a bit overkill for your BMX bike

I heard there is a redhead that works in the shop and once he made love to a goat and the goat had babies and and ...
That rumour is true...the redhead and the goat have now parted ways, but poor Ginger never got over it, he's now sleeping with his new car. Breeding with this one should be interesting
Good shop, great service , unbelievable prices, and employees that fancy a bit of beastiality , what more do you want?

What i have found in the past, with both bike hub and spearmens, is that they are only really interested in you if you have purchased a bike from them. I know this may not be the case with everyone, but thats I've found. Also alot of their products are alot more expensive than they are at other bike stores. e.g The bike shed mortdale. For example i went into spearmans to try on some helmets and found the Rjays missile. Spearmens had it for sale for $160, but that night i went home and had a look on the net and saw that pretty much every other shop that sold them had them advertised for $120.
My mum rang up the mob who distribute the helmets in australia to buy one and the bloke on the phone was very unhappy when my mum said that spearmens were selling them for that much. I dont know if spearmans have since changed their prices, as i havn't been in there for a while, but if TBSM did open a store in wollongong, i wouldn't be going anywhere but their store.

TBSM arn't opening a store in Wollongong...I e-mailed them a while back and apparently it was just a joke on Spearmans and Bike Hub. I too have the same problem with Spearmans (Bike Hub seems good)...if you don't buy your bike from there they don't really respect you eg. I bought a second hand product of here and they weren't happy about installing it so in the end I got Bike Hub to do it. They don't service it that well either and in the end not much is done, they can't be bothered ordering stuff in like derailleur hangers (waited 3 weeks and they forgot about it:rolleyes:) The guys there seem nice enough but some of them haven't relised that people arn't going to buy the same product for $200 more just to be nice. Sorry for my rant but I just wish I could sometimes get my bike properly serviced without driving to a good bike shop like TBSM...saying that Bike Hub in Warrawong and Wollongong have really improved there customer service and are becoming really helpful:D
