hey guys,

i'm fresh on the forums but i'm hoping to stay around and learn a few things.
i'm a total new rider.....up for learning some tricks and just cruising around on my bmx with some mates.

I just got a 2nd hand Mosh Worm.....i don't know if its any good but imo i reckon its too heavy, so i'm constantly looking for better bikes even though i've only had this one for 2 weeks.

any opinions on the bike anyone?

Well i wouldnt rush straight into getting a new bike, keep riding, get comfortable and upgrade as needed.

true, i'm not planning on getting a new bike. but even if i replace the worm it would be with a 2nd hand bike but a better brand (WTP, DK, Volume etc). It's just that the worm seems a tad too heavy.....and i'm not too fond of the look now that i have it.

i've read both threads and it has very good information on bmx's but it doesn't have anything on the mosh worm.

Sounds like a good idea =]
You could also go and weigh it, so we could tell you if its heavy =]

thats the bike as taken by the guy who sold it to me. The only thing i've done now so far is remove the 2 back pegs until i get use to the bike (i want to remove the front as well but i don't have the fitting for the nut).

It needs new tubes since the current ones are gone and i need advice on what tubes to get. plus i want to change the grip as well, so i need to know what brands are good for that.

also, any good bike shops around north shore are? my friend is an avid rider and recommended that i go to Cycology in Gladesville but that seems a bit too far to get to.

Sounds like a good idea =]

with the two back pegs off and me supporting it a bit, its still roughly 16kgs on bathroom scales......

haha, yes.......i think its from 1999.

i'm actually quite divided as to what to do now........since i'm only just starting i don't want to splash out big......but then again i could get a 2nd hand WTP 4seasons for about 350 which i really want to do. but the problem is i would need to offload this bike to get some cash to do it. i don't want to be stuck with 2 bikes.....

yeah a updated bike in this era is the way to go, alot more reliable and lighter i think.
we'll you could probably try sell it on farkin, or ebay. someone might be interested in it.

but yeha, i think a more modern bike would be the way to go.

yeah, i want to try ebay and i'm not too sure if anyone would want it here........but then again if i sell the mosh and i don't find a new bike then i'll be without a bike......

i really want a WTP now.......2nd hand of course....but still....i don't mind this bike and it rides really well but i guess the grass is always greener on the other side

If you see a bike that you want, get it and sell the other bike once you have your new one. I think it would be better to have 2 bikes then none at all.

thanks for the advice guys!

i'm planning to stick with the bike for the coming weeks since i'll be going overseas for 2 weeks later. but if i do happen to see a bike that i really like (i.e that WTP 4seasons.....), i will get it and decide what to do with the mosh later.

i'm just pretty much learning the basics at the school up the road whenever i have time.....i'm just trying to get stuff like bunny hopping, endo's, manuals, barspins down before i leave(which is in 2 weeks). keep in mind i am a total noob to bmx-ing but i do have a knack of picking up things fast.

but what i really need is a helmet, gloves, new grips and new tyres.........can anyone recommend me a store in sydney close to or in the north shore area?
