BB making sound

need help to figure out what could be causing a loud clicking sound in my BB

Dirt, sand. Best way to find out is to take your cranks off, and your BB. Clean of the interfaces, threads and then re-install the lot and once again making sure you grease the interfaces/threads.

Its probably loose

Have you slipped off the chain and spun the cranks on their own to rule out the chain/chainrings and is it only under load or whenever you pedal.

sorry i'm an idiot, thought you were talking about bb5 (brakes)

but my bro had a problem with his cranks clicking, his cranks would undo them selves and fall off but one day they fell off and took a chip out of the spline! for the next month or so the clicked under pressure, but then they stopped after he tighten the crank with a long handled allen key!

I thought that it was just some grit and it would away but then i got told after i notice that it had so much movement but was tight as that a had farked my bb
