Before you think of something else i am refering to the Christian conference held in Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney.
Did you like the speakers?
Favorite?
I personally enjoyed Rienhard Boonke, seriously amazing.
Song thoughts?
Also posting this thread to see how many Christian riders are out there, if any?

yeah the theme was Free. I dont want to bring up a argument but free because jesus died for our sins so we are free in Gods graceous love. Just in brisbane we raised thousands for world vision and alot of people sponsered children. The music was heaps good and entertainment isnt a ideal word of describing the fullfillment of boredom, as there was none and most were there for something alot better and bigger.

I'm not a christian, but I do find their ability to fund raise for decent charities quite amazing. It's the bible bashing nutjobs that I'm concerned about, but then again I guess you get nutjobs in every facet of society...

I went,
The music and shizz is a very small part of it, it's just there. Personally I thought the music was crap this year, but that's my oppinion.
The main reason I go is for the speakes, and just hanging out, when there's nothing on, you just hang out in teh city.
It's not a "bible lover's" convention where people dress up in white robes, and do the really slow boring hyms and stuff. I hate that stuff. Everything is done from a more modern point of view.

What i don't get it this:
Jesus died for our sins.
So, technically, his death cancels out our sins which we commit.
There is no specification about what sins jesus supposedly died for, and WHO's sins they were.

Didn't go to the Planetshakers Conference but went to the Regional Event a few months ago, was pretty awesome. Our youth group went early and we met the youth guys and band and hung out for a while before the event. The band also had some question and answer time, and I was disappointed that everyone was asking questions about the music and whether or not their church should release a CD, this frustrated me, as I thought the questions would've been different. Obviously some people have got the wrong idea. At the event, the speaker was Pastor Chad Harding and he was pretty good. Different sort of preaching to our church but I was impressed that he actually read out of the Bible and his message was based on the Bible, not just some sort of story.

When I read the opening post to this thread, it seemed to ask a question of whether people had attended a Christian conference, not offer the Christian religion up to criticism and discussion.
Wow, you don't religion- may as well state it any thread on this forum because it doesn't belong in this thread either.
That being said, Cyborg Pirate Ninja Jesus did make me a LOL.

Or it could be seen as someone using this forum to "promote" their beliefs and or cause.
Do that on any public forum and as far as I am concerned your leaving yourself wide open to peoples criticisms and comments no matter what particular brand of belief/cause your talking about.

Guys if your going to pay out religions and jesus go and make your own thread, and have a laugh in that.
When i said Christian riders all i meant was riders who ride a bike and live in faith at the same time in their life.
I only know of one rider who believes in jesus and lives it, so all i wanted to know if there were other riders out there doing the same thing.
Also i made this thread just to get some discussion happening on the planet shakers conference and infact the one rider i know who is a christian has allready made his opinion so thanks, but for all the others who ignored the first sentence which said this is referring to a discussion wich relates to certian peoples beliefs, go and criticize else where. So if their are anyother God driven people who ride bikes for a hobbie your welcome but other wise someone close this thread as it is just going to become a arguementive display to religions and God.

Y'know, I 've gotta say MTBfox dude has a point. THis thread has been hi-jacked and turned into a Christian baiting thread and whilst I've got no love at all for organised religion I can't get past the hypocrisy of complaining about religion being rammed down your throat (as is done often in religious threads by many) whilst attacking religion in a thread that is not really that much different to any of the Death Metal/Techno/Fishing/Stamp collecting threads kicking about on here.
At the end of the day you don't have to read the thread so why not let the lads go on about it in peace.
Save your ammo for the proper debating threads...

I'm glad we got that clear. Because, pretty sure Dale Holmes said it and I subscribe to the notion that if Jesus is pushing your pedals, you're cheating yourself.
I know quite a few guys who are very strong Christians and ride bikes, but I don't think they'd have identified themselves as Christian Riders, rather christians who ride, which was what you meant anyway. One guy is a solid enduro XC racer, another an awesome, OG flatlander, and another dude a competent trailrider and keen preacher/ministry student.
IMO, God has little to do with bikes/biking though. Its an awesome expression of wholely human endeavour in my mind.

I'd never heard of this Reinhard Bonnke ( http://www.cfan.org/ ), so I did a quick google and found this. It seems to be written from a Christain perspective, and the Bonnke character seems to be a charlatan and snake oil salesman of the highest order.
David McAllister,The Breda Centre 23/5/01
Reinhard Bonnke makes many incredible miracle claims but is his claims really true? So called miracle claims are two a penny today, and in fact many of the various cults, witch doctors, psychic surgeons, and New Age healers also make the same kind of miracle claims as Reinhard Bonnke, even an advert in a newspaper promoting a “miracle pen” had with it a number of 'documented' healings.
Anyhow back to Bonnke as he is different, he claims Biblical style miracles at his crusades, saying: "When I step on a platform, often without any touch of mine the blind begin to see, the deaf to hear, the dumb to speak and the cripples to walk…" and "Miracles happened as if copied from the gospels and the book of Acts". The crusade chairman in Onitsha, Nigeria boosts "We know that when Reinhard Bonnke comes to preach, we will see the....healing power of God in action". At Bonnke's crusades he reports "Each [person at the crusade] was expecting the miracle that would transform their lives; they looked desperate enough to pursue it - to grab it by force if necessary....the healing power of God flowed each day as countless numbers reported evidence of the miraculous". However when pressed for proof of this 'healing power of God' and the 'biblical style miracles', there is DEAD SILENCE and no help from his ministry, in fact they refuse to listen to those who question these claims. Do Bonnke’s miracles line up with the biblical record? do they match up with the gospels and the book of Acts? NO NOT ONE BIT! And the claim that people can take miracles by force? Unheard of in Scripture!
Jesus Christ never ever went around making the incredible miracle claims that Bonnke makes. Jesus Christ shunned acclaim and let his miracles speak for themselves; proving that He was who he said he was the Messiah, the Almighty God, the Saviour of the World and that His message was from God. When Jesus Christ healed it had a purpose, healing was instant and the healings were abundant and some did not even require the physical presence of Jesus. Jesus Christ was able to heal at anyplace, anytime, anywhere, whether their was faith or not, and his healings were undeniable even to his critics and never was there any appeal for money. Jesus Christ could heal all manner of sickness and diseases using different methods with the results irreversible, never turning anyone away at his unarranged meetings. To sum up Jesus Christ healings, Richard Mayhue in his book ‘The Healing Promise” writes that the miracles of Jesus Christ were “undeniable, successful, spectacular, without any recovery period. permanent, overwhelming, abundant, awesome, instant, [and] authoritative, without limitations, total, and convincing all without any major medical attention that could possibly have taken credit for healing in any way. “
Bonnke is the opposite of Jesus Christ a showman often boasting of HIS power, promoting himself and marketing his ‘miracles’ to collect money. Bonnke mesmerises and charms people with his healings only take place at certain times under certain conditions at prearranged meetings using the same techniques with the healings coming for no real apparent reason or purpose. The healings he claims are spurious, and deniable, and his critics have proven without a doubt that he is a fraud, a trickster even claiming healings that are not healings at all. To sum up Bonnke’s miracles we would say they are “spurious, bogus, deniable, unspectacular, sparse, unconvincing, limited, pathetic and laughable”. In fact many of the practices that Bonnke uses in his crusades are not found taught in the Bible or practiced by Jesus Christ or his disciples. These practices can be found in the occult and New Age Movement.and are forbidden by Scripture.
Bonnke boasts that "Locals brought sacks full of witchcraft items to the crusade grounds for burning each night" and John Darku commented "This is the greatest number of witchcraft items we have ever seen. People surrendered their idols by the sack full....we started burning the witchcraft items from the second night of the conference, when Reinhard preached on the Blood of Jesus and took authority over the powers of the enemy. The strongholds in the city were demolished and the people released".
Sadly many of these people are freed from one bondage and caught into another when it was also reported; "Looking at the crowds, it was if fire from heaven had fallen on top of each head and burning hot coals had suddenly been rolled onto the tip of each tongue. The fire seemed intense - almost execruciating - judging by the painful expressions on many faces. The fire caused many people to shake their heads uncontrollably, while speaking non-stop in other tongues". These kind of manfestions are never once found in the minstry of Jesus Christ or the Apostles and are unbiblical in their nature and more at home in the world of the occult.
Why then do so many people follow after the likes of Bonnke? Why such crowds? CFAN say "Miracles? Well, signs and wonders "Anthony Thomas, who wrote and directed the recent TV documentary `Miracles`, believes Bonnke is popular in Africa because he taps into the continents old religious and superstitions. "Bonnke is the `voodoo priest`, casting spells on his enemies and summoning up good and evil spirits as he dances to the beat of the drum," said Thomas'. However again another instance in which Bonnke is out of tune with the Bible as Jesus Christ commanded his servants not to curse their enemies but to "love their enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you".
Jesus Christ warned his believers to TAKE HEED and BEWARE because in the latter times many false prophets, WOLFS IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING doing 'signs and wonders' in His name, claiming to be 'anointed' would arise and deceive MANY. Paul wrote in his epistles "Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no futher for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was."Who were Jannes and Jambres? Two atheists? No magicians in Pharaohs court who could up to a point duplicate the miracles of God with their tricks. The clear answer is that what we see with Bonnke is the same thing only he does it in the name of Jesus.
Bonnke claims to preach the "full gospel", however there is no "full gospel" or "half gospel" only the true gospel which Paul preached..."I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you....wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved....how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures" [1 Cor 15:1-4]. The 'full gospel' that Bonnke preaches is a gospel full of errors, devoid of any real preaching on "sin, righteousness and judgement to come", but filled with fables that are hard to believe and which he most surely has made up? Even what little truth he may present is lost in a sea of error. "Raise your hands and wave to me if you want to receive Jesus Christ," proclaims Bonnke at his crusades. One wonders what Jesus, as those at the crusades hang on Bonnke's every word mesmerised and charmed by the figure on the platform? The truth is this, Bonnke has "another gospel" which is not another and he comes under the curse of Paul in Gal 1:6-10. What do we make then of Bonnke? A false Christ? Yes the edivence proves his healings are false and so is his mesage, a false Christ who is to be rejected and denounced.
The sad truth is that the church has long wearied of sound biblical teaching as the Apostle Paul foretold, turning their ears away from the truth and heaping to themselves teachers like Bonnke who will tell what they want to hear rather that what they need to hear. The only solution is for the church to reject and root out these false teachers like Bonnke whose folly has been manifested, and return the flock back to the truth of God’s word and the true gospel of Christ and Him crucified.
May God Help us!
Jesus Christ warned "An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign" [Matthew 12:38]

How can anyone beleive we evolved from monkeys heres a few questions for people who beleive that
1.If we did evolve from monkeys then how come babies arent born monkeys
I was going to stay out of this but that's much too funny
1. If Labardoodles are bred from poodles how come they are not born poodles?
2.Even Darwin said his theories were wrong before he died so why do you still believe them
Any one got a reference to this? I googled and got a bunch of religious nuts making the claim but no direct reference.
It should be noted that Darwin never said the natural selection via chance was the only factor in evolution.
3.do you really not believe the bible it says we were created in seven days not millions of years
The bible also says the Earth is the center of the universe. Do you believe the sun and stars revolves around the Earth?
Can you really dismiss the geological and paleontological evidence?
The bible talks about blessed is he who can believe without seeing. It says nothing about pig headedly refusing to believe what you can see.
4.how come we cant speak monkey
If English is derived from a blend of Old English and Old Norse with influences from Latin French and bunch of other languages how come I can't speak Old English, Old Norse and a bunch of other langauges?
Besides, ever see Gorillas in the Mist? You could say Dian Fossey had worked out how to speak monkey
Just for a fact ape like creatures are monkeys Just in case certain people get on this thread
No, a rough way to tell them apart is that monkeys have tails. Apes don't.:D
But for those who do take the bible literally. I hope you don't like pawns or calimari.
Leviticus 11:9-12 says:
9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.
Deuteronomy 14:9-10 says:
9 These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat:

If English is derived from a blend of Old English and Old Norse with influences from Latin French and bunch of other languages how come I can't speak Old English, Old Norse and a bunch of other langauges?
Besides, ever see Gorillas in the Mist? You could say Dian Fossey had worked out how to speak monkey
Also if you have ever watched the Planet of The Apes movies you will know that monkeys actually speak English.
This of course makes it clear then that all dirty foreigners who don't speak English must then be descended from some lower life form or possibly some form of space slug...

Look, I have tried to make it as easy for you as possible. The materials I have posted are mostly from the Christian perspective. It's certainly not me talking from my own cynical old atheist perspective. Even then, my cynical old atheist perspective allows me to believe that the 10 commandments (fictional or not) are very good guidelines for living an ethical life, and I'm prepared to admit that the teachings of the man called Jesus are also ones of high moral virtue.
I think you should read about this Bonnke character. It's not for nothing that they call people like him (and Jim Jones) Charismatic Christians. They are powerful orators and even more powerful manipulators of people's minds. They use exactly the same tricks that people like Adolf Hitler used to fool an entire civilized nation that a World War and systematic extermination of an ethnic minority is a good thing.
If you want to live your life according to a Christian ethos, as found in the bible, I have no problem whatsoever with that, if it makes you a responsible and ethical member of society. You'll get no argument from me that the basis of the Christian ethos is essentially a moral and good one.
However I cannot stand by while someone sings the praises of someone who is so obviously at odds with not only MY own ethics, but those of Christianity itself.
Jesus Christ warned "An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign" [Matthew 12:38] This is particularly important to you MTBfox, as it was to me in my own teenage years when I nearly fell prey to these cultists. It is natural to gravitate towards charismatic leaders, and even more so when you lack the maturity to tell the sales pitch from reality.

OK yeah your right. So since i have nothing to back up why i think Rienhard is on fire with the Holy spirit apart from me draging you to come with me to the meetings to see for your self not just some artical, i cant see this going my way.
Yes it is natural to lean towards charismatic leaders in our society as every one does. Just to let you know and others that it wasnt Rienhard who made me believe so strongly on what Rienhard has to say (or what God has to say threw Rienhard, from my point of view) its what God stirred up inside of me in that meeting that made me and so many others rise in faith and actually come to a realality with who God is and how he works...also including how Statan works.

who God is and how he works...also including how Statan works.
Wonderful Works Are Done By False Prophets In The Name Of The Lord:
Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Mat 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Mat 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
Mat 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Mat 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Mat 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
False Prophets Will Be Numerous, And Very Successful:
Mat 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
2 Pet 2:1 [NIV] But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves.
2 Pet 2:2 [NIV] Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.
2 Pet 2:3 [NIV] In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.
1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
False Prophets Work Miracles That Deceive:
Mat 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Mark 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall show signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
Rev 13:11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
Rev 13:12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
Rev 13:13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
Rev 13:14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
Rev 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
Many Prefer The False Prophet:
2 Tim 4:2 [NIV] Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction.
2 Tim 4:3 For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
2 Tim 4:4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.
True Prophets Are Always In Harmony With Other Prophets Of God And Scripture:
1 Cor 14:32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
1 Cor 14:37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
All this can be found in the Bible. I'm not claiming to be a Biblical scholar by any stretch of the imagination, so all I can suggest is that you read what I have previously posted about Bonnke and read these Biblical quotes and draw your own conclusions. I'll add to that the tenet that "If it's too good to be true, then it probably is"

All I know for sure on this topic, is that christian groups/churches/major league baseball etc. have some EXTREMELY INFLUENTIAL and excellent public speakers.
I don't know the guys name, but around 7-8 years ago I listened to one of these christian speaker guys, and he was one of the best public speakers I have ever heard, managed to hold the attention of about 100 non church goers (like myself) for 45minutes. I totally believed whatever he was going on about, which I think was more about believing in yourself and self empowerment and all that, but luckily I am a skeptic and erased my mind of whatever he was going on about.
The point is, I can see how people can be so influenced or believe so passionately about what these people say, they almost got me for christs sake! (pun) thank god (pun) for my tin foil hat!
Yes im drunk on the Holy spirit.

What if you "know" that it isn't? And if it is unquestionably "real" and true and whatnot, then how hard is it to consider the criticisms of Bohnke (or Christianity or ANYTHING else you believe in) and shoot them down with fair, reasoned, logical responses?
For example, I believe in gravity. I know it's there, to me it's not a question, it's a fact. If someone comes up and tells me it's a load of crap, I'll happily explain why it's not and even demonstrate things to prove it. If you're so keen to push/defend what you "know" why can't you do it this way?

Both. I have faith dude and maybe its not right to have so much when i dont have as much knowledge as others do.

Hear hear. I spent thirteen years of my schooling attending Catholic Schools. I can confidently say that I can speak against it because I obtain some knowledge of the shit they teach. We did a study on some of the Charismatic denominations during Studies of Religion in years 11 and 12. It is a fraud, in the true sense of the meaning. What bugs me is they try to make it appealing by turning everything into sing song and dance (hence the label 'Charismatic'). Plays are shit at the best of times - who wants to be subject to a PLAY based around RELIGION?!

Regan of Gong mentioned that he had not "heard the word" of our mate Reinhard.
i quickly googletised him and came up with a YouTube clip that shows him in all his finger shaking glory
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shxu0ba-SKU
I did also find another interesting article about him being a "modern day Lazarus" and raising some Nigerian fella from the dead. - Damn - hope it wasnt that bloke that died leaving millions in offshore accounts. If he came back to life, I am sure his widow will not give me the 10% share she promised.....

Nah, look mtbfox, you are probably right. He probably is legit, and just spouting the word of the lord purely for the benefit of the unwashed masses. Out of interest, what sort of car does he drive?

Caveat: I may seem like I am being a bit of an arse, but really I am trying to help. I spent 7 long years in the Christian School system going to church 6 days a week, RE 3 days a week, and having Christian ideology shovelled down my throat at every opportunity.
I agree with NCR that I have no issue with the basic moral compass that is provided by the ten commandments etc. I do however have issue with the building of multimillion dollar empires set up purely to fleece money off the weak & stupid.

Matt- this is the wrong stuff. Does this seem in keeping with the commands from the Bible to be humble in whatever we do?
Reinhard Bonnke seems to like yelling. I'd be interested to see his more in-depth theology and whether he can shout about anything other than "Jesus Saves! Hallelujah!". Please don't think I'm being sceptical, but you need to check everything you're hearing, as those verses from NCR demonstrated.

Now, so many religions these days how do you tell which religion is correct??
Can you give me some SCIENTIFIC proof that god and jeses really do exsist rather than saying it's faith, Because that's like saying I have Faith in the face I am better at riding than Sam Hill it must be true because I beleive it...
Anyways Peace out

You know by having faith in whatever you beleive in.
To be frank I think it is rather strange that people can blindly accept a religion - It may provide a good basic moral framework, but that is the end of it as far as I can see. The search for the 'truth' should be undertaken by the individual, not the organisation. As noone can say for sure what the 'truth' is, I feel the logical way to go is to figure out what you beleive and chase it for yourself - be that through reading and research, experience, meditation, whatever.
edit: Atheist here btw.

Meh. While I try to live my life in the noodley wisdom of the 8 Condiments, Pastarafanism is a modern copy of the church of the Subgenius.
http://www.subgenius.com/
For those who don't know the word, The story of the 8 I really Wish you didn'ts handed down to Cap'an Mosey goes like this
While brooding atop Mount Salsa because he can't find a pirate ship, Mosey the Pirate captain receives some advice from the Flying Spaghetti Monster in the form of ten stone tablets. These were called the "I'd Really Rather You Didn'ts" by the FSM, the "Commandments" by Mosey, and the "Condiments" by his Pirate gang. While there were originally ten "I'd Really Rather You Didn'ts", two were dropped on the way back down the mountain, with eight remaining. This event "partly accounts for Pastafarians' flimsy moral standards". The FSM's commandments address the treatment of people of other faiths, worship of the FSM, sexual conduct, and nutrition.
The Eight "I'd Really Rather You Didn'ts"
1. I'd really rather you didn't act like a sanctimonious holier-than-thou ass when describing my noodly goodness. If some people don't believe in me, that's okay. Really, I'm not that vain. Besides, this isn't about them so don't change the subject.
2. I'd really rather you didn't use my existence as a means to oppress, subjugate, punish, eviscerate, and/or, you know, be mean to others. I don't require sacrifices, and purity is for drinking water, not people.
3. I'd really rather you didn't judge people for the way they look, or how they dress, or the way they talk, or, well, just play nice, Okay? Oh, and get this into your thick heads: woman = person. man = person. Samey = Samey. One is not better than the other, unless we're talking about fashion and I'm sorry, but I gave that to women and some guys who know the difference between teal and fuchsia.
4. I'd really rather you didn't indulge in conduct that offends yourself, or your willing, consenting partner of legal age AND mental maturity. As for anyone who might object, I think the expression is go f*** yourself, unless they find that offensive in which case they can turn off the TV for once and go for a walk for a change.
5. I'd really rather you didn't challenge the bigoted, misogynistic, hateful ideas of others on an empty stomach. Eat, then go after the b*******.
6. I'd really rather you didn't build multi million-dollar churches/temples/mosques/shrines to my noodly goodness when the money could be better spent (take your pick):
1. Ending poverty
2. Curing diseases
3. Living in peace, loving with passion, and lowering the cost of cable
I might be a complex-carbohydrate omniscient being, but I enjoy the simple things in life. I ought to know. I AM the creator.
7. I'd really rather you didn't go around telling people I talk to you. You're not that interesting. Get over yourself. And I told you to love your fellow man, can't you take a hint?
8. I'd really rather you didn't do unto others as you would have them do unto you if you are into, um, stuff that uses a lot of leather/lubricant/Las Vegas. If the other person is into it, however (pursuant to #4), then have at it, take pictures, and for the love of Mike, wear a CONDOM! Honestly, it's a piece of rubber. If I didn't want it to feel good when you did it I would have added spikes, or something

Badly paraphrasing from some Jung I read in my early teens...
- it is an inherent nature of the human psyche to believe in some higher power. it is almost a form of defence mechanism. if you believe in some form of deity and the tenements of the associated religion, it gives you a sense of purpose and meaning to live. it was also noted that this was most commonly used as a crutch for those without purpose and meaning.

I intended on starting this thread for two purposes, to discuss the recent Planet Shakers conference, and to see how many Christian riders are out there.
If someone starts to nudge in on what i believe in I cant just sit back and let it all be, (especially from my point of view and where i stand, Criticism to a God who gave his only son for us) Just like you wouldn't like me Criticizing you on what you think life is about, weather it may be sciene, the big bang, whatever it may be....
I didn't invite people to come into my thread to argue or payout religion.
I invited those who were in faith of God and possibily any Planet Shakers attenders who might ride.
I thought I made this clear in the first sentence of this thread, obviously not.
peace, jarrod.
